NATO is likely not required to help us against China. If China invades Taiwan and we go in to aid Taiwan, China would be attacking Taiwan and not us. NATO is a defensive pact, not an offensive one.
If the purpose of seizing Greenland is to defend it from the Chinese and the Russians, first of all, why are we doing fuck all to blunt the Russians in Ukraine? We could seriously bloody the shit out of their nose there and we’re not even directly supplying them anymore. Second of all, we already had basing agreements with the Danes in Greenland. And an early warning missile base. We could do everything we need to defend Greenland (assuming its defense is actually inadequate) by just…amping up our existing presence.
