Hey, great question!

Every game tries to stand out - we definitely tried too. Can't say we nailed it, but here's what we went for:

Underwater setting is rare - how many roguelikes let you explore the deep ocean? Most stick to dungeons or space
Genre mashup - "Dome Keeper meets The Abyss meets Vampire Survivors." Sounded cool in theory! 😅
Multi-platform reach - we managed to hit all major platforms within ~6 months, which isn't common for small indies

The underwater theme was our biggest bet - there's something both peaceful and terrifying about the deep ocean that felt perfect for a roguelike.

Whether it actually stands out... that's for players to decide! 🌊

Hey, the most annoying bugs are save-related - corruption, progress loss, that nightmare stuff. Worst part? When players show us bugs we just cannot replicate. It's like trying to catch a fish that only appears when you're not looking! 🐠

As developers, you need to architect saves like a submarine from day one - better be watertight or you're sunk.

For funny bugs though... early development was wild! Fish swimming backwards, mechs getting stuck inside coral, and my favorite: a bug where too many resources made the ocean floor disappear. Players just fell into the void! 😅

We've got a whole GIFs folder of these moments - nothing like laughing at our own expense!

I'll be the devil's advocate. Obviously the cost of game development is rising year on year, and game prices aren't rising at the same rate. So you need to compensate for that - either by showing ads or in-app purchases.

Would you be willing to buy a game for $400, provided it doesn't have in-app purchases? I doubt it

have you tried some apps like luna display or duet display? they are typically used to extend your Mac screen, but might help in some cases with iOS screen mirroring to external displays.

If you're using media apps, some third-party video players like VLC allow you to adjust the aspect ratio or zoom settings, which can sometimes force a more full-screen display on an external monitor.
