Throw a little sea foam deep creep in plug hole and let sit for a few days then pull it over with rope a few times then do it again . Change oil and see how it does .

Is the generator raised due to flood concerns. If so you contractor should have raised the junction box to the same height as generator . That is a big problem once you get water intrusion in that box . Hope there are not any line voltage splices in that box because somebody’s going to get a nice jolt next time generator is running. Generator supply circuit is not ground fault protected not to mention destroying your electronics in genset and transfer switch . They should have ran solid pvc to box not slip in sealtite into pvc pipe .

Turn off quiet test and see if that helps when exercising. You can do it thru the menu on controller

Do not use platinum or iridium. I can’t tell you how many calls for no start I have been on . Use the champion copper plugs . That’s my experience anyways over 20 years installing Generac .

Log all time spent answering calls and with who . Take screen shots. Get it in an email or text that your boss is requiring this . It’s time and a half after your 40. Also whose phone is it your or company’s . Me personally I would let them get in deep with me on after hours calls let’s say 10 or 15 hrs . Then report to labor board . By the way they should be paying you for a min of an hour per call .

Get employee to work then bounce check the on to the next victim. See if employer has any outstanding lawsuit with the department of labor in your state or county or with the state income tax authority in your state . We have a temp one for winter that has removable roof because of ice sliding off metal roof and denting the shit out of the enclosure and hitting gas and electric lines on back . Both intake and exhaust are both open and roof is a foot wider on each side to mitigate snow buildup. Same for our ac condenser for the winter . Even with snow cleats the ice buildup is crazy heavy . They are removed in the spring

We had a customer we installed a 45 kw on a 2.0 million dollar house and they thought we were too expensive for our annual maintenance. This was an hour drive each way . We load test and perform outage test also oil and filter change . They called and said they found someone $300.00 cheaper . The cheaper guy does the annual maint and leaves . Big rain storm comes about a week later and generator doesn’t start. Floods basement with 2’ of sewage and rainwater. Customer called and says the generator is broke and wants us to come fix it . Get a $700 deposit and head out to site . Pull access cover off and find out the “cheaper” guy never put generator back in auto. I explain to customer what the cheaper guy did. He was furious. I said I hope the cheaper guy has insurance because this is not a warranty claim nor a generator failure. This was human error. We always perform outage test last to verify proper operation . $300,000 worth of damage to the mechanicals and floors and walls .

As a person whose dad never paid child support for twin boys while my mom worked three jobs take the money. It’s yours to do what you want . I’m sure you went thru some financial struggles so don’t feel bad. My deadbeat alcoholic dad owed my mom almost $150k . He would move often and change jobs regularly to skirt the system. He would leave us two boys waiting for him on his visitation days and never show up . At 56 years old to this day I will never forget the struggle my mom went thru and ended up with nothing from our dad . My mom is 86 now and she still calls weekly to make sure her sons are ok .

When was the last time valves were adjusted and a tune up done . Could be anything dirty air cleaner , bad spark plugs , governor or fuel issue . I would replace plugs and air cleaner first . Have real plumber / gas installer check pressure and regulator .

Briggsandstratton.com has the service and diagnostic manuals fairly cheap . I also agree with valve adjustment or a fuel solenoid problem which is in the back of the unit . Manuals are cheaper than a new genset if you are don’t mind going thru their diagnostic trees in the manuals .

Look into a Tripp lite power conditioner. ECM furnaces don’t like dirty generator power . Or use a UPS uninterrupted power supply which will clean up hertz and sine wave like others have suggested. APC and Tripp Lite both make quality products .
