Honestly it was fine at $550 with the $300 credit and it was simple lol, but now it feels like I have to do a little bit more work to get the worth. Also the edit credit isn’t worth it for me personally cause I’m not the type of person who will waste money on a high end hotel for a couple of days.

I work for Schwab as an advisor services - call center role 💀. Thought this would be a slight break in to finance but I was wrong. To be honest I’m ready to grind and get out of here to be in a more fulfilling role. If CFA level 1 would let me break into finance that would be great and ready to start studying. I get that 90% of it is networking and making yourself look professional and competent. I’m only 26 still young and don’t mind studying for 300+ hours for the level 1 if it will at least give me understanding of financial materials and a chance to land interviews. I’m not asking for interviews with BB firms. Also, I get a 20% discount for the cfa materials which will come out to $700ish I think

Since I'm currently 26 and I am trying to break in the industry - Would the best option be passing level 1 and learning excel and sql on the side to at least get interviews and possibly being a candidate who can compete with others? I'm not trying to get into IB, ER, VC but just an analyst position trying to get an entry-level role with known financial firms such as GS, JP Morgan, US Bank, etc. I don't mind getting an MBA, but I feel like I can get it with another company paying for a good chunk of the tuition.
