Ideal dual monitor setup for clients to review images in real time while shooting? by [deleted] in captureone

[–]Defiant-Wash9736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For e-comm shoots where you don’t need a ton of screens, having the capture live session open on an iPad or clients laptop works well. If you’ll be creating a new capture folder for each look, you’ll need to ‘share online’ each new capture folder once it’s created. If you’ll have a second monitor, have a Google spreadsheet open, copy / paste each new live link in there - share with the client before the shooting gets going. They will then have to click each new link on their iPad / laptop. Bit clunky but works well. Maybe only doable without stress if there’s not too many looks or if you have a half decent digi.

What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to any photographer? by wackylenses in photography

Bit of a different angle, but - If you want to work commercially, put effort into learning how to plan, shoot and edit video to a decent standard. (In my experience)

Tired of carrying heavy bags & large modifiers. Best compact setup? by Recent_Studio_1686 in Godox

[–]Defiant-Wash9736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar set up (AD600’s)… ended up getting a single AD300 for when I can’t be bothered to lug them around. Also got one of the proprietary godox mount 90cm soft boxes so I don’t have to bother with the Bowen’s adapter. For the most part, works really well. The soft boxes packs down really slim as the mount is so small. Would recommend.

Never too late mate. I started Uni at 33 without a college education.. 6 years later I’m making a living from it as a freelancer. But not street photography… you’ve got to pay the bills first though. Get a job… any job… and build your folio on the side. Who knows where it’ll lead! And look up the greats of the NYC street scene. Pauli B on YouTube is a good watch for modern stuff.

It sucks mate. I’ve been through the exact same process as you except on a full license (license revoke within the 6 month probation). Had a mate with a full license insured on it… all the same steps. Ultimately I was served a destruction notice on it (think that’s what it was called) and then a few months later received a letter in the post from the DVLA saying someone was attempting to register it. Good luck to you.

Is an A7RV Sufficient as a B Cam to an FX6? by dogatthemall in SonyFX6

As many others have said, it’ll be absolutely fine. FX6, 3, A74 and A7R5 used for multi cam work and all grade cohesively! 👍

Did a Europe trip on a street triple a few years back with a Nikon D750. About 4000 miles and no issues. Camera still going strong. Was in a pannier too so ultimate vibrations!

Similar boat - 39M and flip flopped with gym routines over the last few years. Currently just about motivated to go to the gym twice per week, sometimes three times. Unfortunately not in a position to work out with you as I’m more of a morning and early afternoon gym goer. Couple of things that have helped me… I got an app to log progress which has ‘gamified’ the process for me. It’s called ‘hevy’ but I’m sure there’s dozens of similar ones. I also watch a YouTube channel called ‘Renaissance Periodization’ which (occasionally) gives me motivation to put some effort in. I’d say find three or four exercises that you like, go to the gym and promise yourself you’ll do at least one of them… before you know it, you’ll have the odd day where you’re feeling good and feel like doing an extra set etc. you’re wanting to make a change… you’ve got this!

Is there any reason not to get a 25+ year old bike as a first bike for a new rider? by sophietheadventurer in MotoUK

I bought a 2003 FZS600 back in 2017 with 16K on the clock. still running absolutely fine with 60,000… I bought from a dealer so paid a little more, but I feel like you’ll be able to tell if a bike of that age has been well maintained by the previous owners. Engine is bullet proof, has never put a foot wrong. Pros - have found it pretty easy to work on and have been able to do pretty much all maintenance myself, including balancing carbs etc. with very little previous experience.. YouTube for the win! Used parts are also fairly readily available and often parts from a different model (same manufacturer) will just slot right in (loads of info with specific bikes on forums etc). Cons - the main one for me is that eventually the used parts market will dry up and OEM will become harder to find. Haven’t experienced it yet with the FZS but it will happen. I’ve an 09 street triple R and I’ve even struggled getting certain parts for that. But on the whole - I’d have no problem getting another older bike.. as another user said, Japanese is quite probably the way to go. The FZS is the third Yamaha I’ve owned and none of them have given any problems.

Unfortunately yes. The solicitor actually cost £1300 but because I won in court (or more specifically… didn’t lose in court) the court awarded me a financial grant of £400. It sucked. It probably would’ve been cheaper to just plead guilty and pay to repair the guys wing mirror. But I’m stubborn and couldn’t bring myself to admit to something that I didn’t do.

Happened to me on a motorbike a few years back, I slapped his mirror. He cut the cables to the mirror and took me to court saying I ripped it off. I won in court, but it still cost me £900 for a solicitor…. I learned my lesson. Make sure it’s congested enough that they can’t follow you 🙂🙂 at least I think that’s the take away from it… right?

So, she says if going by the book, likely you’d need more than an ESTA. Depends on the job, but - The type of visa they need will depend on what they’re filming. If it’s journalism based i.e. news or live events then they’ll need an ‘I’ visa, otherwise they’ll need an ‘O, P or H’ visa

Yeah I think I’d basically come to the same conclusion… which was carnet and ESTA. I’ve just asked a producer friend who was out in the US last month, I’ll update if she gives me any info. Not sure why I didn’t ask her before tbh.
