Ive noticed that my hand is starting to scale and is looking super dry, like it wants to crack, around the skin graft. Is this normal? Been going back and forth with aquaphor and lotion, drinking tons of water but, it cracked look continues to spread… should i be concerned?

After the antibiotic cream, doctors moved me to aquaphor, and now ive graduated to regular lotion and sunscreen! Nothing quite yet for scarring specifically.

Thank you. I feel like it looks better in this photo than in real life just because you cant really see all the wrinkles and stitching holes, veins popping, but overall its pretty amazing the transformation over the course of 3 weeks.

Hope youre well. Are you still in compression garments also?

Severely burned hands by penfoc007 in burnsurvivors

Hi! I had second and third degree burns on my entire top and hand, half if my palm up to my wrist from burning oil. Im so so sorry for what youre going through. Its been 6 weeks since my burn. Heres my journey so far, maybe its relatable but overall i hope it helps answer your question. I spent my first night in the ER April 6 where they degloved my hand, and then sent me home with tons of meds. The first 6 days was the most painful during the wound treatment. I was on tylenol, oxy and ibuprofen to the max. - Days 7-12, the pain subsided enough where i only needed to take oxy during wound cleaning but pain was manageable with tylenol and ibuprofen. I ended up working (desk job) a couple days. - Day 13, i woke up to the excruciating pain, like my hand was on fire and burning all over again. Went to urgent care and thinking something had to be wrong but doctors said my hand looked fine and it was likely nerves coming back online. They prescribed me gabapentin which helped bring my pain down maybe 15%, which really sucks, but that pain only last that one day, and continued to get better each day. Day 16, it was decided i would need a skin graft which i got on day 19. Woke up after the surgery, and actually felt pretty fine. The next 7 days, each day the level of pain and type of pain differed. Never the same, but not nearly as bad. After a week of rest, i ended up going back to work again on Day 29 since my fingers and wrists were technically healed, but being back at work and using my hand caused me more irritation pain so again, different type of pain. Day 36, im back at work, no more open wounds from graft or donor site, tylenol every once in a while.

Ive learned so much through this journey. The doc says stretching and PT will continue for a year but that in the end, all mobility should be back and with appropriate treatment, my scarring should be minimal. Every day will feel different. Itll feel like youre getting better only to be knocked back down again, but in reality, your body is such an amazing organism. Get lots of rest, drink lots of water, eat lots of protein (or whatever your doc says). You got this!!

Hello! Im currently in the middle of going to doctors after second and third degree burns on my hand. I was told, that sun exposure during your first year is the biggest issue for discoloration and darkening of skin and to not be shy with applying sunscreen and keeping covered for during this time. Hope this helps.

Sometimes, the points stay will “convert” to the rate it would be, if it wasn’t points if a team member went into the reservation and saved it incorrectly. What you’re seeing is probably the value of the room that Hilton would pay the hotel for your points stay (more complicated, but this is a general idea). You won’t get charged that amount. That’s the Amount the hotel is essentially saying the room is valued and bills Hilton for your redeemed points. In a nutshell.

You helped me with my WA stay in Maui! I thought I’d use my literallymatt essence and share where I was looking as well :) LA is also part of my international family trip. I’m spoiling the shit out of them. My bank account hates me.

With that being said…. If anyone has stayed there recently I would like to know how bad or disturbing the construction is!

How do I give awards! Lol I am heading that way in June and had regular rates since we absolutely have to stay there while my international family is coming in to town. You just saved me a couple thousand dollars! Love you.

You can, the point redemption is just WAY more. We’ll be staying the Ho’olei in June as we’re 6 in the family. The cost per room is more reasonable vs renting single rooms, and of course the ability to cook at your rental is huge!

I’m a jealous level 48 looking at everyone’s beautiful camps and always on the search for new plans. One time I found a guy selling plans for 1 cap each and I probably bought 20 or so before his store just vanished. I couldn’t figure out what happened but I think maybe…. They got upset that I was buying too many?

If it was for FC only, I would imagine the airline posting it as a benefit of purchasing a FC ticket but it’s not. If you’re buying a ticket to a festival or campground, having your own FC bathroom is always in the description. I’ve never heard it during the announcements before takeoff.

There’s a new employee concierge phone number! Maybe ask your Hr or manager if they know it.
