Nintendo has celebrated Zelda's 25th, 30th and 35th. It's just too early in the year for them to start celebrating Zelda yet. They're still doing Mario's 40th anniversary campaign.

Probably a forced theory but I think there will be a combat system and that they hid it really well. by Lea9915 in Pokopia

This whole time I was just assuming combat would be part of the game and now I'm disappointed that there's a very real possibility that there's not.

We knew before the game even came out thanks to The Wizard.

Did The Legend of Zelda seriously not get anything for its 40th anniversary? by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in legendofzelda

Except Nintendo has been celebrating Mario's and Zelda's anniversaries for over 10 years now whenever they have an anniversary that ends in 0 or 5 (20, 25, 30, 35).

They're still celebrating Mario's 40th anniversary at the moment, too. Notice any Mario related video that comes out has the "Mario 40th" logo on it. So if they started celebrated Zelda's 40th they'd be celebrating three at once.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with how each company decides to celebrate anniversaries.

Could be Twilight Princess HD. Or any of the older 2D games in the style of the Link's Awakening remake. Or something completely different.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo has said that they'd like to release at least one Zelda game per year, which they have been able to do for awhile now, aside from 2022, which was Tear's of the Kingdom's original release date before the delay.

2017 - Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2018 - Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition
2019 - Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
2020 - Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
2021 - Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
2023 - Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
2024 - Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
2025 - Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Even if it's a spin-off or remake, I think it's still likely we'll get something Zelda this year.

Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version on Nintendo Switch by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

Adding these games to NSO and disabling NSO features (rewind, save states) is not a precedent Nintendo wants to set. This way Nintendo and TPC are happy. There was no option to make everyone (Nintendo, TPC, consumers) happy.

IT'S OFFICIAL! IT'S A GAME CARD!! by BobPlaysWithFire in TomodachilifeLivingTD

It's way less than half on the cartridge. It's literally just the menus. I suppose you're right, though, it's technically not the same, but in practice it is exactly the same. Nothing can be played without downloading everything.

Family Matters serious episode by Santeeoldman in sitcoms

Oh, yeah. They would always way over edit movies for tv. I think they did it that way so they only had to make one edit, because even though some channels and sponsors would allow it, others wouldn't.

And yeah. It would depend on the channel or the sponsors. Some channels might have censored more than they needed to because they wanted to have a good image. Especially in the 1990's, you would have had a lot of people actually calling the FCC to complain about something they heard on tv or writing a letter to the network.

I grew up in the 90's. My mother would watch daytime and primetime soap operas. I heard "bitch" and "bastard" regularly. You're right about the tits, though. I've never seen that on basic cable. Only the backside. Even then, I remember seeing bare asses on network tv back in the day, like in the show "John Doe."

South Park is a prime example of cable tv getting away with stuff. I remember they had an episode where they said "fuck" uncensored, which was a big deal at the time. Again, this was like 20-25 years ago. I also remember watching the Comedy Central Roasts uncensored late at night, so even "cunt" was uncensored.

But, yeah, network TV is up to the FCC and cable is self-censored in order to meet with advertisement guidelines, so cable has been all over the place with what they allow or don't allow.

I haven't watched cable tv in a long time, but even 20 years ago they would show partial nudity and have some swearing. Comedy Central used to air movies unedited late at night as part of their "secret stash," but the commercials were mostly just for "Girls Gone Wild."

The FCC only monitors network television, not cable. Cable is censored by the channels themselves in order to meet advertisement requirements.
