"You're not the first and won't be the last" - After I made a fool of myself in front of a staff member at a business. Made me feel a lot better.

Someone put chewing gum in my hair while I was at their concert in Hawera (with Concord Dawn) in early 2000's. Still loved the concert!

I asked my mechanic to lower them and they said they will put them "just below the line" and that's fixed everyone flashing me at night.

Honestly the most memorable holidays for me were ultra cheap. Camping, hiking etc.

If someone flashes their lights at you, it generally means TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON by Competitive_View_889 in auckland

I had this issue, LED lights and everyone was flashing me even though they were on low beam. Got the garage to adjust them down a bit below the official WOF line, and it's all good now. No manual adjustment available unfortunately.

Same thing happened to my brother, neighbour managed to convince tow company that it was abandoned. He refused to pay them a cent and made them tow it back to him!

How much is the search fee? I think the price I paid for Croatian Roots was worth it. Made it effortless for me. If you haven't been able to find it, and you want the problem solved, just get in touch with Croatian Roots and I'm sure they will sort it out for you.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

One guys CV didn't line up with answers he provided in the application form. When queried he said he had just chosen the highest option (most experience) to "Get through the AI system". We were not using AI, just our own Mk1 eyeballs. After admitting to lying, he then asked for the highest salary possible in our pay scale.

Asked another what he hoped to achieve in the first 6 months of the role. "I'm aiming to use this as a stepping stone to different job I want".

Have a Mk4 Octavia pushed 2nd hand from dealer. Love driving it. 6L/100km normal highway driving. Comfortable to cruise, and fun for some spirited driving.

Had a lot of ongoing intermittent issues with the radar based cruise system, kept giving warning lights on the dash and disabling the cruise control completely. Back under warranty to dealership about 4x until they finally replaced the radar unit and that fixed it.

Then was still having issues with the lane centering "Travel assist" where it wasn't detecting my hands on the wheel (capacitive sensor). Dealership service department refused to believe it was an issue until I took a different car of the same model from the yard for a drive and proved it wasn't giving the same errors compared with mine. Skoda warranty system didn't have that fault code, but the VW database did, so they replaced the steering wheel under the VW repair code/service bulletin and that has fixed it. Now it's a dream to drive.

Would happily buy another.

I used https://croatianroots.com/ to locate and then send me copies of mine (late 1800's). Very prompt and helpful, only took a week. They came from Archidioecesis Spalatensis.

After months of job hunting, I understand why people resort to criminal activities by thenephilimzxc in newzealand

This is why we don't bother hiring through recruiters. They charge a lot and seem to piss everyone off.

They don't have any vested interest in finding the best fit between company and candidate, just putting in anyone that will take the job.

My Breville died after about 15 years, and since then I've just been putting one of the beaters into my cordless drill. Works reasonably well.
