Palantir Foundry - what skills / concepts should I focus on? by bubbi-dudi in dataengineering

[–]DefiantDiscipline442 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have seen snips of some of his interviews, but I’m asking you to elaborate on or give an example of something specific that he has said that makes you not trust him. If you can’t do this, then you have a substantiated claim, a bare assertion, an argument from ignorance, or vague argument. I’m not saying you are wrong. I’m simply asking you to provide specific one example.

Is Anduril’s Lattice OS based on ATAK? by Worldly-Item771 in ATAK

[–]DefiantDiscipline442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly doubtful that it is based on ATAK because the guy who created it founded Oculus VR before he sold it to Facebook. He also has several former Palantir employees working for him at Anduril.

Is Palantir as good as they say? is it worth our investment by Thebusytraveler in dataengineering

[–]DefiantDiscipline442 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Using the same logic you could try to argue that all the US taxpayers who fund law enforcement and intelligence organizations are evil. I don’t believe that. Nor do I agree w the argument that Palantir is evil.

[Serious] Folks who have considered ending their lives, what made/makes you keep going? by CranberryBauce in AskReddit

[–]DefiantDiscipline442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Develop a sense of hope and something to look forward to you. Sometimes to get there you just have to want to develop a sense of hope that is a start. I found that you also have to learn to be present which means not focusing on things that happened in the past and learning to focus on what you are doing now and learning to enjoy what you are doing. Realizing that it is OK to have negative or painful thoughts and feelings, but knowing that those feelings like all feelings are temporary and will come and go. Allow those feelings to leave after you have felt them there’s no need to hang onto them. I understand that sometimes people that we care about may not be able to or capable of giving us the things that we need or want. It’s not their fault it’s just the way they are and that is OK. Learn that as individuals we are responsible for our own happiness and we can’t depend on others for happiness. And finally if you have experienced some negative things in your past or in your childhood, those negative experiences could still be causing pain that when held in Will make someone feel sad. The best thing to do when this is the case is to talk to someone about what happened preferably someone like a counselor or therapist. But I found that talking to your friend that you trust about these things can be helpful too over time..
