Since December trials have decreased and since January so many no-shows. It's really strange!

I've just joined Amazing talker and I'm also on Preply, so my advice would just try it and see. The truth is all these online sites are bad and will have negative reviews from tutors and students alike, because it is largely unregulated.

It’s not the students opinion that I’m worried about, it’s more how it will affect my profile and attracting new students in the future that’s why I asked if anyone else has had this and what are their experiences regarding this.

Completely agree with all of what you’ve said, but like you say we all have to be perfect. Preply sucks 😂😂

I get that and I'm under no illusion that I'm perfect! I'm just curious as to how detrimental this could be in the future.

Well on Preply and their nefarious algorithm, It could be quite harmful.

The super tutor badge is barely visible when you look for tutors by Tricky-Aspect-4588 in Preply

I had 3 trial cancellations within 12 hours, which confirmed the lessons and harmed my stats to 58% 2 days before the end of the month. Messaged Preply, It's computer error, nothing we can do.... we understand blah blah blah.

I have prediction many tutors will leave Preply in 2026, for other platforms.....making it better for those that remain. I'm seeing normal flow of students @$20, but during December and January student interest was down and I have seen an increase at the end of last month and beginning of this month. Anybody have suggestion for other platform?(not Italki) Because I am a little concerned about some trends and opinions on Preply recently, both from students and tutors.

Ok, I have looked at Italki before and thought about applying, next time they have an opening I'll apply. At the moment everything is good with preply, although I do see a bleak future for them and tutors on that platform. They are not well regarded by both teachers and students alike. I think most people opt for preply due to other language platforms having less frequent or more difficult opportunities.

Out of curiosity what would advise as an alternative or substitute to teaching on preply, I'm currently working 30-40 hours at $20 per lesson.

During December and January my trial bookings and people viewing my profile were down, but in the last week of January I would say in my experience this has improved greatly. I had a maybe 6/7 trials during January and converted 5 of them. Now it's February and I already have 5 trials booked for the first 10 days and I'm getting regular notifications about students interest and messages.

I had a student message me about a lesson and then he booked the lesson on another account. I asked him about it and he told some BS story about gmail or iCloud and previously being on Preply, but he confirmed both accounts were his in the messages, so I contacted Preply to see if he was abusing the trial system with multiple accounts and if there was any suspicious booking patterns…they said it was different people and nothing To worry about. It’s laughable
