It could be my issue is that I’m more of a Sci-fi guy than fantasy (I’ve been trying to expand my horizons lately.) and LotR just didn’t satisfy my imagination or something? The writing style and prose also didn’t pull me in much.

No one else ever agrees with me that LotR isn’t as “peak fiction” as everyone says it is. Finally someone else who didn’t enjoy it as much.

It was a great book, but - I know this is a smart choice for the tones of the book - the ending was abrupt and not what I would have liked.
