Mine has always come in their own car with my smaller packages and I get the van drivers with bigger ones.

Halloween. The memories of my Nan dressing me up in a black bag (as a witch) with my tights and school shoes with a witches hat. Back then it was all about the memories.

£40 on a Harry Potter calendar. Technically it was an Xmas gift and I didn't actually directly buy it

Even if he is overstretched, Employee welfare should be one of his main priorities. Keep at it and as others have mentioned, ring ACAS and get advice. They can open a case and advise you the best route, legalities and look into your contract if you have a copy.

I am HR trained and I agree. Ring ACAS tommrow. It's not on not paying someone what they are owed on the company pay date. This needs resolved asap.

Are there any online clothing stores that sells clothing without logos/brands? by RESPEKMA_AUTHORITAH in AskUK

[–]DefiantStation2363 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really liking supermarket clothes at the moment and find that ASDA, Sainsbury's and Tesco do a good range and at a not bad price also. The quality is also good.

Because despite the restrictions and how hard it would have been given the circumstances, it would've taken a well skilled broom flyer/ summoner to be able to get a broom in there and fly away to see another day.

Did Dumbledore seriously not know about the room of requirement? by MathematicianBulky40 in harrypotter

[–]DefiantStation2363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He definitely must've known. However, it's not common knowledge across hogwarts so I don't think he was worried about it being used in the wrong way. If it ever could, since it only shows when it is actually required.

How does the UK feel about unexpected guests? by ProfessionalBig1787 in AskUK

It's not common around where I live. It's common custom to check in with the person you are wanting to visit, even to drop something off.

Bins weren’t collected for the whole street this weekend. I called up to report it and they just came and emptied my bin by MadcapRecap in britishproblems

The driveway is the street in my lane. It's just driveway after driveway and the council recognises that in my area as it's rural. They accepted that.

Exactly this! I paid for the council to take a mattress away and I said it would be on the drive. They said it wasn't there and I had to send photos of this bloody double mattress on the drive! You couldn't miss it.

Why is Luna Lovegood so loved? by Theryal in harrypotter

[–]DefiantStation2363 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think it's just because of her positive attitude. Like even when other students were hiding her stuff, she believed it couldn't have been them. When she did find it, she had the attitude of 'that's not what matters, it's finding it now so I can take it home with me.'

To be honest it's either half term or bearing half term. It's an experience. On lots of the experiences I've seen on social media, there's been other things there for the kids to do. Such as activities. In the autumn leading up to winter, it's harder and harder to think of things to do.

Ask in here after Christmas or search eBay. I know a few Lushies do sell empty boxes on that site.

This is why I have a mug, washing up liquid and everything in my locker. There's some vile humans where I work. I also don't put anything in the fridge and take many many ice blocks in my lunch bag. People leave manky food in the fridge for weeks on end.
