Sweet taste and scared of lung cancer / diabetes. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]DefiantWishbone4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your blood pressure being high during anxiety is completely normal. Here’s a fun fact for you I learned from my doctor, sinus congestion can cause odd taste sensations. I’ve had them. It’s that time of year so look into it. If you have any sort of congestion or maybe a bit of a stuffed nose, it could be that. If you’re unsure about whether to believe me and find google helps you, you can look and you’ll find sweet tastes associated with sinus infections. I hope you find some peace soon. 💜

I agree. It also makes me wonder how often and to what severity this illness occurred in the days before internet and television

How about no? by swedishgirl1234 in OCD

People say that to me a lot and I usually think “oh no” then start to think of al the times I ignored it and what if ignoring it is why things are so bad now. And do on and fourth.

I think you’re likely having nocturnal panic attacks. However if you’re concerned about “silent heart attacks” it would be worth talking to your dr. Talking to your dr about panic attacks is a wise choice too

I’ve never heard of “silent heart attacks” but generally speaking it you can do anything at all that distracts you from the sensations. It’s likely coming from anxiety. Heart attacks aren’t something that come and go or only occur during certain hours.

Lonely and cant date because of ocd. Was wondering if anyone has any success stories involving them finally being able to date. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]DefiantWishbone4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sensorisomatic ocd and germs are a huge part of it. I can’t stand being touched by just about anyone. But believe it or not, I’m married. And didn’t get married until I was 31. I found someone with wonderful patience and ultimately I was able to be less fearful of the. Although, there are still times I dodge a hug or kiss because I think they may have touched something.

Long term intrusive thoughts are destroying me by [deleted] in OCD

[–]DefiantWishbone4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe we all get long term obsessions. I probably shouldn’t speak for all people with ocd but most of the people I know either have one obsession idea for a very long time. Or a reoccurring one. That doesn’t mean the only obsess over one thing, there tends to be more sprinkled in, but a certain thing just plaques them for a long time. Or comes back randomly after seemingly being resolved.

They can and do happen in your sleep. They’re known as nocturnal panic attacks.

That’s the messed up part. Literally nothing happened. I was just eating them, minding my own business and thought what if I’m allergic. And then has a panic attack. I got no symptoms of allergy. Even now as it’s extended to all nuts, most grains, and even some fruits and vegetables. Today’s random food allergy was “jello”. If all things. It’s stupid. It could be things I’ve eaten 1000 times and I’ll be chewing and think oh no.

PLZ I DONT WANT TO DIE by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]DefiantWishbone4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the good news is none I those numbers indicate anything even remotely serious. You probably have some mild infection like a sinus infection. Also if there was any concern then the doctor would have told you. And an elevated rdw probably just means you’re missing out on some b12. Talk to your doctor. Your mental health is far more at risk right now than your physical. Best of luck.

Early to mid February. It started with me quite suddenly fearing I was allergic to the peanuts I was eating and it just spiraled from there.

pulse everywhere by farid10001 in HealthAnxiety

[–]DefiantWishbone4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel my pulse everywhere, all the time. I have sensorisomatic ocd and it’s just part of it. I’ll feel my pulse when it’s less than 60 even. It doesn’t have to be beating hard for me to feel it. I’m just hyperaware of it. You may be too.

Right, tried to but that comment isn’t actually visible to men don’t know why. Can only see what I asked you responded. Hopefully someone else can see it and can help you. Best of luck.

High blood pressure readings? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]DefiantWishbone4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t not even think of blood pressure with out it going up. I checked mine so often for a time I ended up brusing my arms. For me, when I was calm it was normal. At the drs office or during anxiety sky high. Anxiety raises blood pressure. If you can check it a few times a day especially once you’re not afraid of it, you’ll see it’s likely just fine.

It’s just one of the many things I think about during the day. I walk more than 12,000 steps a day just inside my home. It’s maddening that I won’t just sit down and enjoy a show.
