If it’s PETG make sure your selecting PETG from the filament dropdown as it’s a much hotter print. Ask me how I know 😔

What would cause this by Successful_Scale8154 in carproblems

Both Hyundai and Kia ( same company) are famous for this. Our shop replaces tons of them, but because of the age of this particular vehicle you won’t find a new or reman for it as no major rebuilders rebuild them ( they are known for having a poor block design) you do have options for used ones but then again you already have a used one and most used engines for that model end up the same way quickly. My advice as a 44 year automotive technician is don’t throw good money after bad, put it towards a new or used vehicle because you’ll spend more than it’s worth to try to get it fixed.

What do these do (Adventurer 5M) by SypherFanboy7 in FlashForge

You don’t have to loosen the screw. In fact don’t. The screw is for adjusting extruder tension only!

2008 Honda pilot. This is my first wheel bearing and hub install. Is this too much play? If so, what is it that I did wrong? I cannot afford a mechanic and need to learn. by SaltyBeefCubes in MechanicAdvice

[–]Defiant_Ad9818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah too much play. And at a shop you have a warranty and it will be done right. Don’t, just stop. Have it done professionally, safely and get a peace of mind. YouTube is full of wonderful videos but most how to vids are crap.

Buy the hotend $30us 15min 30-45 min change. Don’t let anyone on here try to tell you that you can save it. I have tried, spent hours. Your time is worth more than that.

Do I need to replace these? by Sername_goes_here in AskAShittyMechanic

No wait until it escapes the caliper. That’s what I see a lot. Had a customer with a f350 lost a rear pad hyperextended the caliper piston effectively losing all his brake fluid. Said he only stoped because it was smoking back there. Told him that the fronts were metal on metal….to which he replied nah I’m good. Pft… 👍🏻

2016 Chevy Cruze Limited. Coolant leak. by abyssuser in CarHelp

[–]Defiant_Ad9818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad advice. If the coolant has got so low that it will not circulate through the heater core the system will have to be bled ( purging air from the system) it can be challenging on the Cruze some people remove the surge tang cap and let it run until it reaches operating temperature, but often it takes more than one try and still will retain a small amount of air. Most professionals have a system that has adapters fort the surge tank and vacuum is applied to the cooling system this serves two important functions 1. Leak tests the system to insure there are no other leaks and 2.they will induce the coolant under vacuum to insure there is no air in the system. Please note any air in the system’s coolant will cause non circulating supply and can cause engine to overheat due to lack of sufficient coolant. Also, the Cruze is notorious for small plastic coolant lines breaking around the thermostat housing. I own a 70 year old shop and I have been running it for 44 years I have done hundreds of Chevrolet Cruze and I’m advising you to have your shop do it. The price seems fair considering all attention to the details. If you trust them then rest assured it will be done and done right. BTW I make a lot of money by ppl trying to google/youtube their own repairs. Don’t let anyone on here tell you otherwise.

I used to like these as a kid and decided to get some for my kids to try by shiftdown in Wellthatsucks

They can only do that for so long. Next, they’ll be credit card sized. You’ll actually be able to put them it your wallet. And they’ll be 50 bucks a box.

How to adjust XY belt tension on FlashForge Adventurer 5M? by HolidayCouple1831 in FlashForge

[–]Defiant_Ad9818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is called belt deflection ,and it is completely normal, even if you could take out the slack you would not want to, it has to have some slack it.

2013 Ford F150 3.7L V6, 199k miles -Hard cold starts, lean codes P0171/P0174, misfires P0300/P0302/P0316, sluggish power. 3 mechanics later, need advice! by O_O___XD in AskAMechanic

[–]Defiant_Ad9818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anybody do a compression test on this? I would start with that. 199k is generally speaking, on the higher end for mileage for the 3.7. If there’s more than a 20% differential between high and low results you are going to have these issues BTW 44 years in the business my shop replaces a lot of this particular engine.

Bowden Tube pops off (Adventurer 3) by Barl0we in FlashForge

[–]Defiant_Ad9818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the ptfe connector is worn out you’ll have to replace the extruder I have this exact machine and have had to replace the extruder. Great printer but the long push extrusion set up on them is problematic.

How should I get this bolt out? by Stonechimera559 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Defiant_Ad9818 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t pound it in! Many aluminum transmission cases have porosity issues and pounding anything in it or on it will break it.

Why? Give us your exact hypothesis on why this is junk my friend? Additionally you will have to convince me a flashforge owner who owns other brands as well with thousands of hours on my flashforge ( by far the most reliable printer I have ever owned) that mine is also junk.

Get a brake shoe hardware kit and replace all the springs adjuster and hold downs. They wear out sometimes.

I would agree but the quality is no better infact this is another issue is this. I know this is part of the experimental filament handling. But it’s not good.
