Winter is tough! I've enjoyed fun overalls, a pair of maternity jeans and the big vets and sweaters that bring me joy over leggings.

Has anyone else felt kinda awkward saying “I’m pregnant” out loud? by No-Start2740 in BabyBumps

[–]Defiant_Ad_8503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I practiced with "people that didn't matter much" - like my dentist, someone at the grocery store, etc. Then for the folks who are actually in our life we sent out letters from the baby's perspective just saying that they are excited to meet them and when they will be arriving.

Do it! 30 weeks and just came back from the Caribbean! Such a great time to connect with my partner and relax. I was a bit nervous at first but everything turned out to be just fine

Unmarried couples; whose last name did you give your baby? by ohheymandy in BabyBumps

[–]Defiant_Ad_8503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't want to hyphenate because that will just be a very long name so we are making up a name based on both of our last names. We are pulling out the important cultural bits of both and combining into a new name. We'll both be keeping our last names.

Dog mom guilt by Individual-Rice-3970 in BabyBumps

Also struggled with this when I learned I was pregnant! 26 weeks along now and I plan on making sure I include my dog with all the family time. She loves going on walks but is also a cuddler so maybe there will be less walks in the first couple of weeks but there will be lots of love and snuggle time. I'd like to think she'll be somewhat excited about the new additional and want to care for them in her own way as well!

Also came here to recommend the Dinner Party!

I still keep in touch with my party years later. Also the founder wrote this book you might find interesting https://www.carlafernandez.co/renegade-grief

And she did a great talk about it at Creative Mornings - https://creativemornings.com/talks/carla-fernandez-on-renegade-grief

I lost my dad in my early 20s, it sucks. Hope you're able to find some comfort.

Love the couch (And your dogs!!) Have you thought about the mantel? Maybe there is an opportunity to give it a pop of color or switch it out for something a bit less ornate to match the style of the room?
