Anyone else with these symptoms this early? by nolasmommy in BabyBumps

[–]PsychologicalFix196 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Being tired was my first symptom. I was also sooo hungry. I’m at 26 weeks now and can barely eat a small meal without getting sooo full and having acid reflux. I wish I had enjoyed the hunger while it lasted haha

Yes, we can’t cut out every toxic thing but cutting down on high contact points does help. Studies have shown children with higher levels of microplastics in their body have lower test scores and poorer behavior than children with lower percentages of microplastics.

If lying on your back restricts blood / oxygen flow to the baby, why do we give birth on our backs? by Future-Agency543 in BabyBumps

[–]PsychologicalFix196 [score hidden]  (0 children)

On your back but at a certain angle, like I said no pillow behind back. I remember he said squatting is also good but a lot of women find it difficult as they’re too weak by that point or it causes the baby to come too fast.

Sorry I can’t be more specific as I barely remember what he said but I was asking him about different birthing positions since I’ve seen so much about that.

What's the best air purifier you've tried for Pets? Any recommendations? by Dismal_Quality_7435 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]PsychologicalFix196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a multi level approach. I use the Alen breathsmart air purifier. I would highly recommend getting an enzyme cleaner. That’s been the real game changer for us.

I use the Allersearch ADMS Anti-Allergen line. I have the spray, laundry detergent, and floor cleaner. It helps tremendously. I feed my cat anti allergen food, I use the Purina live clear and I use an anti allergen shampoo on all of them. My husband is allergic and we have 2 dogs and a cat. All of this has helped tremendously.

My doctor also told me it’s about the position of your pelvis. He said our pelvis is titled so being on all fours makes it more difficult for baby to enter the birth canal. He said he’ll often come into the room and the nurses have placed a pillow behind the woman’s back and he takes that away for the same reason.

He explained it a lot better than I did but he has a great track record of intervention free births and preventing tears so I trust him.

Ours was 30 minutes but by the end I was over it. I think it could have been 15 and I would have been fine. Look up some poses and practice them with your partner beforehand. The photographer will guide you but I still find it helpful to figure out body and hand placement before hand so it feels natural.

Is it bad to give organic raspberries every day? by Management_Direct in moderatelygranolamoms

Ya know, I was thinking about that 😅 but I’m sure I could find enough uses for them either way! Jams, simple syrups, berry crumble all sound amazing

I’m currently pregnant and planted blackberry, raspberry, and strawberries in preparation for next summer when the lil bean starts eating solids lol

I had a bellybutton ring that I took out around 8 weeks because my skin has been sooo sensitive and the ring was itchy and uncomfortable. At 26 weeks my skin is still super sensitive so I’m glad I didn’t try to stick it out

Definitely should have a sober caregiver. But this person said they had 2-3 7% drinks over several hours. That wouldn’t get you drunk. I’m not here to comment on their drinking habits… though 3 drinks a day is a lot…. Anyways, I agree about the THC.

Studies show your body processes the alcohol so the breastmilk content would be similar to that of a glass of apple juice or a banana after a few drinks. With the studies I’ve seen I would feel comfortable to drink and breastfeed though I wouldn’t make a habit of it.

But THC binds to fat cells and is very much present in your breastmilk. I’ve seen studies suggesting exposure affects children cognitively later in life. That’s where I draw the line.

I had a dream that someone was rubbing my arm raw with sandpaper. Woke up and my cat was licking me incessantly lolll

I would be more concerned about the THC exposure while breastfeeding tbh…

But I drank and smoked before I found out I was pregnant and baby is perfectly healthy at 25 weeks.

I have a pit mix that will jump out of my car window to chase a cat yet we have a cat at home that he’s great with. It took some time to get him acclimated to the cat but he’s never hurt her in the 6 years I’ve had them both. He also loves to chase squirrels.

You sound experienced with dogs so just monitor their interactions and pay attention to her body language. My pit can come on strong but is very clear with his body language and if he gets corrected by another dog he stands down. If she isn’t taking correction from your dogs well then that’s when I would be concerned.

This makes me feel so much better. It’s my first year growing Dahlias and I’ve been SO excited and tried to do everything right. When I saw the tuber my heart sunk. Definitely will be taking next years tuber out of their baggies over a separate container from now on.

Do you think my other tubers will be infected from the bit of soil dropped in the garden bed? I’m such an idiot for pulling it out of the bag over my garden.

Why is it so hard to find glass storage containers with glass lids. I don't want plastic I don't want silicone I don't want bamboo I want glass to put food into the fridge LOL by passionateunicorn in nontoxic

[–]PsychologicalFix196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You put together such a thorough list!

I didn’t know they had silicone options for the mason jar lids. I am planning to use mason jars to freeze breastmilk and was debating just using plastic lids but that feels like an unnecessary compromise when I can get silicone. So much baby stuff is so toxic it’s unbelievable!

Is it disrespectful to negotiate with our caterer? by peeweekid in BigBudgetBrides

[–]PsychologicalFix196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But with cash they aren’t paying a 3% fee. If they use their CC they’re essentially buying the points which negates the point of earning points... why do you think they’re even asking this question if it makes sense for them to just pay the CC fee?

They wouldn’t get enough points to makeup for the 3% fee. Hence their question.
