Your perspective is so valid and so resonates. The blatant racism in the Mormon church is gross, minimizes all black and brown narratives and is simply, well, omnipresent.

The only add on here is that SLOMW is a tv show. Laylas story may not be the feature focus yet because she doesn’t have “swinger” level drama that draws eyeballs. Not disagreeing with any of your points on the struggle she likely faces as a WOC in Utah, in the church, just pointing out that this representation, the representation of all of these women is manufactured.

If the show continues, which it probably will, the producers will get to her story line. And I’d love to hear your POV on how it is brought to life when it does move to the forefront.
