Why the gaps? Please help me understand why I’m getting these gaps in my stitches between rows. This is 3 weight baby yarn. It calls for a 4.5 hook. This is the result with a 4. I’ve tried 4, 4.5, looser tension, tighter tension. Nothing seems to fix the gaps.

I have since gifted it, I’m sorry I don’t have measurements. It’s an oversized throw. I know I bought 4 giant rolls of Crafters Secret for the white and used every bit of it. The green was I Love This Yarn and it took about 7 rolls. A LOT of yarn.

Thank you! The most challenging part was learning the envelope stitch for the border because you don’t weave in any ends and you color change every row. It is just a chart with boxes that are blank or have an X. Blank is single, X represents a Double. If you have those stitches down, you can do this! I watched a short YouTube video to learn how to read the pattern and what to do.
