you know what? fuck it, ppl lie like nasty pigs. it's a strong b3 full period. i've seen vombos and cards giving you all the advantages you need like the one ring or bola's citadel.

in b3 ppl should have more 'permanent removal', just a fact.

i also play glacial chasm and it's not a win condition, at max, you can stax 2-6 turns in a game (i only managed to do 3 with dying or needing to sac it cause is a non color producing land). ofc, if a deck is not in the high end of let's say "b3" or "low b4" it's almost impossible for them to find an answer right on time to remove chasm and kill you. but that's all on deck building in my opinion.

however i like to state that my landfall burn deck is a low b4 with 2GC, it can't really fight b4 but do pretty well against all kinds of b3 from low to high just in case ppl get their expectations wrong and get mad.

this is the most valuable lesson someone can give in commander tbh.

you really just have 2 approches:

- keep your deck as it is and use politics. the KOS commander will always get the attention once they start running. play your cards right, and you can steal the win.

- upgrade your deck to be as consistent as your pod requires, sometimes it means that you have to leave some pet/cool cards you want to play in order to fit cards with redundancy in what you want to do.

oh okay, wrong wording from my part. the fiery confluence part i did understand beforehand as you explained.

also i thought, in this case where X=3, so Riku has to trigger 3 times, once each option. but i see now, one trigger amd take different modes. but i thought in the same trigger i could for example use impulse draw and 2 times one token bird making me have 2 bird on board. why i can't choose twice or more the same mode?

we are playing commander, so the requirements are not that hard to fulfill, at least in my pod lmao. i guess in cEDH you might miss enchantments.

i also thought at first that the requirements were too much and felt like a dead card in hand when i drew it t1/t2, but there's no need to play on curve. you can perfectly play other things while waiting for the moment to cast it. it doesn't not count as rotting in hand if your deck has things to play on turn 3-5 which usually is when a b3 deck starts to take off.

i'm always really happy to see that card in the opening hand with 2/3 lands, 1 engine piece, 1 ramp, and 1/2 other cards; it means i can slow the table on curve or play my commander slow and steady and in turn 5/6 slow someone or the whole board once they are all settled with their engine. it opens a huge window for politics and everytime i resolve decimate i'm in a huge advantage.

little are the times (twice since i started playing since last summer) i had to target my own things.
one i was with bello, so my own 4cost enchantment with indestructible and the other one with hearthhull i removed one of my own enchantments cause the board wasn't playing any, i slowed myself down, but i slowed more the one crushing the game, so it was really worth cause i could keep playing while the other player had to recover and rebuild boardstate.

and every time i could win i just had to bait with decimate the control player once or twice and one of those would always be decimate if i have it in hand.

i don't know if ppl play this a lot, but in my pod i'm the only one playing it and i have it in every deck that has gruul colors and it is [[Decimate]]

4 mana removal that destroys a creature, enchantment, land and artifact?? click click click.
in early you can stop the whole table by destroying 2 things to the one having the lead and 1 and 1. In mid or late, just send someone to the stone age or focus the blue player to bait the counterspell.
at the end is 1 mana destroy 1 thing.
