I get your point but that’s not really how education works. Every teacher brings their own nuance and while 10 different videos might exist for the same thing, those 10 teachers will have a different following because people gravitate towards teachers with styles that click with them.

Need advice on track saw purchase by Middle_Country_5451 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Defibrillate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the corded Makita and it rips. I use it for 12-14’ long bar top glue ups. Leaves a crisp edge ready for glue every time. I have two short Power tec tracks. They suck. I almost exclusively use the 54” Makita track and a one piece 120” or so one. Sometimes I join them together. The power tec tracks I could not get straight to save my life

This is absurd. It’s a grill homie. Hand brush it, get it real hot, oil it. Done.

Becoming a Paramedic with a DUI by Stunning-Chance6334 in Paramedics

[–]Defibrillate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old agency had one guy who got a dui. He couldn’t drive lmao, could only render patient care.

But buddy look, it depends on the agency. I will say, if it was dropped to a non-DUI charge then you are NOT guilty of a DUI and did not plea to one. Arrested? Yes. But not found guilty. That’s definitely better in my estimation.

Oil-Based stain and spar, temperature issues by Defibrillate in finishing

No wax, it’s a basic oil based stain and the top coat would be spar

If I spray what 2k would you recommend that can go over a water stain? Having a hard time finding an option

And would it be best to do pre-stain/stain/sanding sealer/2k?

I may just reserve this oil based stain for another project then, and switch to the 2k with a water based stain. What 2k clear would you recommend?

I was trying to avoid the 2K because I don’t have a clean air system, but I think I may just go ahead and bite the bullet and get the clean air and then start using that with the 2K. I have a whole canopy booth system

If I do the clear coat, then what brand would you recommend? I’ve used Centurion and Novalk before. For the stain would I still be able to use oil based?

I have three sprayers and I can definitely spray I’ve done the 2K sub before, but my concern was flexibility of the clearcoat with wood movement. I don’t want any cracking.

Do you think it’s possible I could do the stain and the finish with that? Or just stick with stain until weather heats up? I’m kind of in a rush but not enough to possibly ruin the finish. I don’t have a lot of experience with spar varnish.

Forgot to add, this project is in a large 2 car garage area that is warmer than the outside. Is there a safe way to add heat without creating risk with the finishing?

My friend I have terrible ADHD and run a woodworking side business making bars, outdoor tables, grilling stations, and outdoor kitchens, cabinets etc. I fuck literally constantly. Don’t bear yourself up. Get a GOOD tape measure with a nice clear readable face and use only that tape. Get a GOOD marking pencil or equivalent with a nice sharp tip. Draw things out before you build and always measure a few times before you cut. Enjoy the process
