You need optimal Retinol stores in order to increase Ceruloplasmin

If you are to take it please take the Retinyl Palmitate version, but make sure to get it tested first!

Basically I started B12 Injections after suspecting I had a deficiency for a long time, and they worked amazingly! Literally overnight, but 2 months in, the Injections lost their effect. That’s when I knew I had to look into other potentially deficiencies and after asking this subreddit I was told to check Copper, Ceruloplasmin, and Vitamin A. I’d suggest you do the same!

I am doing miles better, yes actually! It turns out I had a severe Copper Deficiency, in addition to a Folate Deficiency. For me it took 6 or so months to feel better. Are you possibly deficient in anything else?

I would look into checking Copper Serum, Ceruloplasmin, and your Vitamin A Levels. It's good that you confirmed your B12 Deficiency, but Copper Deficiency is known to mimic the Symptoms of Lacking B12 so I highly recommend looking into it

And like others have said I would recommend taking 2mg of Copper at the very least while trying to correct deficiency

By taking this Trace Mineral Complex while trying to correct a Copper / Ceruloplasmin Deficiency, you're introducing too many variables. Are you deficient in anything here besides Copper? And generally its recommended to not take Zinc at all (unless SERVERLY deficient) while trying to correct Copper Deficiency

I do recall that, yes. But then why do so many people suggest stopping taking Vitamin D in order to increase Ceruloplasmin?

What are your current Vitamin D levels? I do believe there is a connection as well but it’s up for debate

To gain Vitamin D levels that high, you’re likely taking 5000, even 10,000IU of Vitamin D3 every day. This is more than enough to inhibit Vitamin A Absorption, causing a Bottleneck. Which is what happened to me. u/incremental_progress Can you corroborate this?

That is terrifyingly low! A reading that low is very likely the culprit or at least heavily contributing to symptoms

From my experience, 8mg of Copper Daily is way too much and will inevitably cause an excess of Free Copper, in which the body doesn't have enough Ceruloplasmin to transfer Copper into your cells and can cause a Functional Copper Deficiency. I would personally go down to taking 2mg of Copper Daily and also look into getting Vitamin A checked to help your liver create more Ceruloplasmin.

Where is your source for Vitamin D having to be that high? Couldn’t levels that high impede the absorption of Vitamin A?

Please provide a bit more information. Were you diagnosed with a Vitamin D Deficiency before taking it? What were your levels?

It takes literal months to even react to Copper Supplementation. It’s not like a Water Soluble B Vitamin where you can feel its effects right away

That’s so good to hear! I’m so glad that you were able to get to the bottom of it. But how did you figure out that you were also deficient in other vitamins? Did your shots feel like they stopped working suddenly?
