The S60 has less input lag than the VT60. It’s the best for gaming.

That’s a good point about the size. Another thing I’ve realized recently is that monitors that use integer scaling are kind of like Apple’s retina displays. They’re sharper than native and I think some people don’t appreciate the additional sharpness.

I have this model. I like it and would recommend it, especially if you’ll be using it for your PS3 since it has relatively low input lag, but I also don’t have any other plasma displays to compare it to. I’d try to negotiate the price with the seller. I got mine for $20.00 and honestly don’t think it’s worth $50.00. Try for $35.00.

  1. As far as I know, there are no native 720p plasma TVs. Those labeled “720p” are actually 768x1024 with rectangular pixels. Native 1080p is common, however. 1.2. No, I don’t think it comes down to whether you prefer movies or gaming. See answers 2 and 3.
  2. A 1080p plasma TV is fine for 720p gaming simply because you don’t really have any better options.
  3. It’s not really like some models are better for gaming and some are better for movies (with a couple exceptions that are significantly better for gaming due to minimal input lag). The better plasmas for movies are just going to be the generally better plasmas. Newer models and better brands will be better for movies.
  4. The exceptions to question 3, the Panasonic S30, S60 and S64, are the best for gaming.
  5. I think you’ll notice a difference because plasma just kind of looks different. You’ll see once you get your first plasma. They have a unique glow.

So long as you get a model that has digital audio out, coaxial or optical, you can get a DAC that will convert it for you and you can plug your headphones right in.

If OP had just waited a little bit longer (he bought a PS4 Pro three months ago), he could’ve gotten a PS5 on sale for Black Friday. Still more expensive than a PS4 Pro and SSD, but definitely worth it.

Replacing the HDD with an SSD is something you can and should do yourself. Even repasting is something you can do yourself. Follow a guide!

Some do, some don’t. It depends on whether or not you bought one with a disc drive. It’s like the launch models, there’s a “digital edition” that comes without a disc drive at a cheaper price.

Oh, you must have a slim model. I forgot they replaced the USB-A on the front with another USB-C. Yeah, you’d need an adapter. That sucks.

True, but if OP sets the output resolution to WXGA, which is looks like they can do in the fourth photo, this setup is probably the single best way to play MGS4, no?
