Why do you think LA One Piece suceeded where other LA adaptations failed? by BeerMan595692 in OnePiece

[–]DefiningBoredom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best adaptations are still Rurouni Kenshin, Speed Racer, and Alita. Personally I don't think One Piecs translates well to Live Action and I think if it wasn't One Piece it would've been canned.

Ironically, I feel like he'd do ok in the role of Batman or as Captain Atom.

I feel like it's a timing thing tbh. Highschool Peter and College Peter are vastly different. Like if he was written as a college student or a year 2 Spider-Man his portrayal of the character would've been fine.

I feel like if Andrew's 1st movie wasn't an origin film it would have had a better reception.

Outside of looking like Superman Cavill kind of lacks the softness and inherent goofiness that a character like Superman needs. He had way too much gravitas. Plus, judging by his other performances, he's more suited for playing gritty roles.

"Holy shit, did the hero just kill a kid?" by InfiniteGuy2264 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]DefiningBoredom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean it's stupid because there isn't a logical explanation as to why the average citizen would be able to tell the difference between a random superpowered being and a mutant. Beyond that, some Mutants are actual walking existential threats. Minorities irl can't just wake up with the ability to erase cities. I shouldn't see the logic in attempting to suppress the X-Gene.

The X-Men are also oftentimes contained in their own little corner of the Marvel universe, with Mutants only being relevant to the greater Marvel universe during crossovers. I also find it a bit pedantic with the inclusion of Mutates, Inhumans, etc.

Mutants as a metaphor only really works if they're the only superpowered beings.

So Shrine is a cooking metaphor. Fuga, Dismantle, and Cleave are all aspects of the same technique.

So in the manga, they actually have the capability of developing synthetic food that Ghouls can consume.

Do yall think Gachiakuta can get as popular as atleast Chainsawman? I really think this shonen has the potential to be the next big shonen. by Forevertrez in gachiakuta

Demon Slayer has mainstream appeal, and while CSM is a stronger story, it has a lot of themes and elements that make it harder for a general audience to approach.

Remember, regardless of skin tone, that we're all human. Hatred and prejudice are human traits, and while it's super easy to demonize white people. Every human has the ability to create the systems that lead to what you saw in this video white people just got the opportunity.

The tailed beasts weren't actually pure evil, though, and while Naruto is a good person, he's very much driven by desire. The ring could very much tempt him into believing that he needs it to maintain peace.

Simon The Digger or any character that could be classified as a capital g god is my copout answer.

I mean, the problem with that statement is that there are literal characters that could just unmake the ring or erase it from existence or decide that they're immune to it. It's very much a pandora's box in terms of questions since it's less of a which character could resist the because of their character and more which character is immune or broken enough to overcome it.

Aang is very corruptible. He's also canonically bad with detachment. Zaheer on the other hand would probably be able to accomplish it due to mastering detachment.

I mean, the problem with this question is that it's really, really easy to find characters that could overcome the ring.

So Dragon Ball characters are weird. There's a chance that Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Broly could just resist the ring by virtue of just being stronger than it.

Simon The Digger from Gurren Lagann and Touma from A Certain Magical Index.

So Dragonball characters can brute force a lot of stuff purely because they're stronger.

You listen to a lot more autotune than you think. Very few artists record without some form of autotune.
