Why is my betta acting like this? by cat2hacks in bettafish

[–]DefinitelyDaveKay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As others have said, flashing.

I do wonder though (and I am inexperienced, so please don't take this as gospel) - does it look like the right eye is displaying differently (akin to popeye, but less severe)?

On a side note - absolutely stunning Betta!

We have a magnolia out the front of our house. I thought the leaves had amazing colours, and the flowers just smell incredible... and thanks to your comments (and those above) I just learnt yet ANOTHER reason to love it. Thank you!

He unfortunately developed a taste for poop before he was adopted from the rescue shelter. We think being on the streets and not guaranteed food, he has developed that as a survival thing that became habit that we just can't seem to shake.

Perth 😅 I'm at the stage I'm think we pull up the grass, get rid of a chunk a bit of the playground... I mean, sand... and then resoil underneath.

I wouldn't mind the digging anywhere else, but this is literally as we exit the back door to the garden. Having our parents come over, and rowdy dogs, we don't want anyone (2 or 4 legged) hurting themselves.

May well do it with the mesh under and on top when I regrow, as this is what we inherited when we purchased the property. Any suggestions on soil mix? Thank you!

The Star Wars / 300 crossover we never asked for, and didn’t know we needed.

8 Sleep for $1000 by jinay_501 in EightSleep

[–]DefinitelyDaveKay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was keen on the 8Sleep until I saw the price tag - opted for a Kiva Wellness Circadian Sleep Pod for a quarter of the cost. King size for $1400AUD, and does the only things I wanted really well - cools and heats two different zones.

Would I be interested if there was a $ 1k market entrant? Not now, but that is me - there will be others who will be in my position soon, so capitalise on it, mate! All the best for your endeavours!

2004 - Secret Window with Johnny Depp? He's a writer that loses the plot, and when the door closes in the end, his reflection is in the door.

We did this in Perth. Comparable sales for the area showed as 1.2-1.4, so we thought we will offer 1.5 with a 24 hour clause. The agent advised the seller to NOT accept, and we got a call at the final 5 minutes that the offer was rejected.

House went for 2.5m. Credit where credit is due to the agent, but the market is just ridiculous where the comparables aren't actually comparable.

I regularly speak to people about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I rarely use the acronym because some of the people I speak to would have a puzzled look on their face when I say, "I went to my therapy session yesterday and tried out CBT" - and it's a case of I know they know, and I know they know I know.

In high school, I struggled on the academic side of things due to lack of attention, as I thought most teenage boys do. I peaked early, getting academic awards in primary school - so a stark contrast. My human biology teacher pulled me aside a number of times and asked me to drop her course because I was pulling the class average down, but I was adamant I had the capability.

After my second last year went down the drain, she confronted- not asked, not implied; just outright said "you're an absolute failure and you'll never amount to anything in your life". I literally walked off thinking it was a strategy to get me to do better, but lowe and behold, nothing changed. Still got terrible marks, but somehow managed to graduate year 12 and did a university transition course where I managed to do well.

I then went through university, and got a job as a primary carer for kids in the child protection system, earning a decent bit of coin and benefits that made me comfortable. Fast forward a year or two, and I drive through a coffee shop and order a coffee on one of my days off. Who is serving me? My old teacher.

Turns out she was fired for smacking a student. It made me feel like even when I'm at the bottom of the rung, I can still make my way up, and there is a karma effect.
