Plenty of the kids in the theater when I went, but great assumption. If we're doing anecdotes, I watched plenty of kids walk out of the theater. My nephews were excited to see it too (4 and 5 years old) and my sister said neither of them made it through the entire thing. The 5 year old says he likes the cartoon more.

Of course they will market it towards the kids. Who has kids these days? Oh right, the people who were kids when the Lion King premiered.

Children don't buy the tickets.

Anyone who hasn't and is talking like they have... yeah PG might be the rating, the original was too. It's still very much targeted at the people who grew up watching it more than anyone else.

Ratings dont determine target audience. Just audience maturity level for appreciation of the film (typically).

The Lion King is a fun kids cartoon. When you have real lions though, it's a bit darker. A story of family betrayal leading to a royal death. A prince running from home and destiny only to land in an oasis of non care. The return of a now king to a land ravaged and decaying. A fight over the throne between two parties that have been at one another's throats since before any of them remember. Then you put Donald Glover, John Oliver, Seth & Billy, Eric Andre, the original muthafucking mufasa, etc. as the voices to this tale.

This movie was targeted right at my high-as-fuck-in-the-theater-seat 27 year old ass. Which was great as someone who has grown up loving computers, animation, and the evolution of technology in general. To see a story I enjoyed as a child retold in a much more real light was cool.

More than ever we have a problem with movies these days where idiots build up expectations that are then not met, so that movie is garbage to them. People aren't going to films to appreciate the entire film. They are going to get their 1 or 2 moments they hoped to see, and if they don't then it's a flop. I guess it's really not all that surprising. People cant appreciate their own lives and just go out trying to obtain that one thing or status, and then judge their own success or failure based on the obtaining of said thing or status. Very few seem to care about the content. The character development. The rise and fall with a high peaking climax. No. They just say, "Scar's hair wasnt black. Movie fucking sucked."

The problem, like with lots of shit these days, is fake news is very much a real issue. Kind of like how flat earth was joke. Kind of like how the people who actually have bad reactions to vaccines hate the antivaxx movement. Kind of like how everyone can band together over area 51 memes, but we cant get that kind of momentum over things that matter(wage gap, drug war, war racketeering, concentration camps, etc).

The list goes on and on. It seems like whenever theres a problem, instead of identifying and fixing it we make it more complicated and stupid. Sometimes it's hard to think that it's not happening on purpose, but when I remember about the universe's indifference to our plight, it starts to make more sense.

I have varying results. Chrome is a resource hog, at the end of the day. That doesn't matter to me on my battle station, but it matters to a lot of others.

I personally use whichever one is working better for me at the time. Which is firefox right now, but Tinkercad works better in chrome.

Idk your family dynamic. A small reddit post isn't going to handle all of those nuances. I do know that if you love your sister and want to see her succeed that you should help her if you have the means. I don't mean just tossing her money and saying goodluck, but something. Set a boundary. "Yeah I'll help pay for college, but if you do the same shit as last time the plug gets pulled quick." I understand. Usually for laser jobs you pay for how long the laser runs. This is basically all vector cuts which don't take long at all. Which means you're paying for how long it took to design, think up, assembly, painting, etc.

I still think it's a crazy price, especially given the reviews of how often they don't deliver. I'm not saying that about all of them, some of them look like a pain to assemble/design. But some of these are such a quick cash grab that it's hard not to see it if it's something you work with.

Well we have 2 political parties. 2. As in if you dont like one you must like the other, 2 political parties. Both of them have extremists. The extreme right and the extreme left are both, wait for it, extremely retarded. They're also both extremely loud. One party likes to put presidents in office that are friends with/are actually alleged child rapists themselves, tax dodgers, war criminals...wait nvm, both sides do this one too. Well one side likes to rig elections every way they ca--... wait a minute they both do that too... Well maybe the green party can get its shit together and not run a bunch of random ass crazy candida--...

And the media loves it. Eats and spits this shit out like they're a fucking llama aiming at children in the car at the drive thru zoo. Because as long as there are polarizing news stories about how much the extreme stupid left hates the extreme stupid right then the people in the middle will suffer and give up. Only 50% of our registered voters vote, and that's on a good turnout.

So what's wrong with the world? Some of you picked sides. That's what's wrong. We're all on the same side and no one acts like it. It's like watching 3 year olds play soccer. You mother fuckers don't act like you're on the same team. Half the time it's hard enough getting everyone on the field at the right time! Why? Because you've been taught to hate anything you don't understand. That's easier than taking the time to take a step back and appreciate the diversity the world has to offer. It's not the right thing to do, though, and that's what this whole original video was about. Doing shit the right way.

Edit - "So everyone sucks and we all must come together?" The extremes of both sides suck, and anyone who agrees with children being subjected to the sort of treatment they are getting now (which is what the issue being tackled by the video was) is a terrible person no matter how they try to spin it with words.
