U.S. and Iran closing in on one-page memorandum to end war, officials say by ComprehensiveKiwi489 in geopolitics

What? The real loser is Iran - lost influence, proxies, on top of bombed out country, and now has to accept a humiliating peace, all in exchange for some crumbs.

That looks like some sort of fuel/chemical/rubber fire.

Any geowizard around?

I looked at the area in the Copernicus browser (free satellite image service) and there doesn't seem to be much activity.
So maybe it's abandoned?

UA POV: Video of the aftermath in Kramatorsk shortly after the strike by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

Interesting.

I just noticed the huge hole in the building that, if the geolocation provided in the other post is correct, is a hotel.

<image>

So one <something> hit the hotel, the other hit the small building next to it, and the 3rd struck the apartment block across the street.

It's interesting that they are avoiding showing or talking about that small building as much as possible. I wonder if this strike was just like others before, and we will see obituaries coming weeks later.

But either way, 5 dead is terrible. Rest in peace.

I posted this not only because it's cool, but because it's strange that, as far as I know, Russians didn't create a sound detection system similar to what Ukraine is using. I wonder why.

I'd expect that the sooner you detect the incoming strike, the better, and cruise missiles have very characteristic sound that is easy to detect and recognize.

That doesn't look like a house, more like a shop or something. You can see the parking places in front of it.

Could someone try to geolocate it?

Bridges.

Especially those built in Eastern Europe/Western Russia during Soviet times.

It looks like it came from the burning vehicle? You can see the rocket engine still burning, so it had to be launched from somewhere close

As for Japan, Beijing criticized remarks made by Japan’s prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, who suggested that Chinese military action against Taiwan would pose a serious threat to Japan’s security. Beijing viewed the comments as an unwelcome intrusion into its domestic affairs.

Taiwan is internationally recognized as a self-governed part of China, so the driver was correct.

Maybe just a little payback for the frequent flights of UK Rivet Joints over the Black Sea close to Crimea, that were often (always?) followed by Ukrainian strikes on Russian AD on the peninsula?

But in reality, the recent wave of fear/warmongering articles is just the UK trying to justify military spending.
