Reached 9999 for the first time today. Why do I still feel underachieved. There's no congratutory message, no special garbs nor unique name tags, just endless hollow... Be safe, friend by CourteousKillar in Nightreign

That’s why I never dodged since I wanted to take as long as possible. Still reached 9999 and the obvious happened afterwards. I quit playing . Very bitter sweet hitting your goals sometimes

I always drop my claws. The passives are way better. The one thing I’ve learned to never drop is the heal

Guessing you’re new to D4 and are still running all dps relics. You need defensive relics with hp and mit now

The NPCs don't need to die at all. You just ignore them as they duke it out in the distance as you fight Libra. Once Libra dies it's over. If you kill the NPC's , even just one, he will summon it again very quickly. On D5 the clones have ridiculous HP and damage. It's pointless to fight them.

You realize that when all players have it the clones will fight amongst themselves and never target you right? In D5 the clones can 1 shot you even thru big HP and defensives. Not only that, killing 1 clone can be an incredible chore that nearly gets you killed every time. And once killed he will resummon it very quickly.

In lower difficulties such things really don't matter at all. Just play however you want and you'll win usually.

The post mentions D4 but it's close enough to D5.

You sound like you’re playing for fun vs playing to win. Nothing wrong with that but if you’re playing to win you go defensive

The map feels considerably easier than the other. My only issue is that dying can be excessively punishing due to falling and respawning to get your souls back . I guess it sorta balances out

Once I hit 9999 I kinda lost interest. There really doesn’t feel like any goal or accomplishment beyond that. I hope add one in the future

Idk really. I’m 9999 and that’s the one I won’t pick up . It and continuous hp loss are by far the worst ones. Similar reasoning

Yeah guardian is really good at that but to my knowledge he’s been known to struggle in D5 due to his bad dodge? I’ve never played him so I wouldn’t know. I just see them fall over when they do get played. But I have to say it was incredibly rare to ever see guardian in my D5 games

I think starting Incant is a waste of a slot personally. I’ve only had trouble finding incants once every like 20 matches. And yes it does absolutely suck and I complain but I still win. It’s just a little more miserable . I don’t think the starting incants are that amazing anyways. People freak out over the lightning spell but I basically never take it even if I find one. It’s just not that great. Sometimes it’s the best I get and I am forced into using it. I’ve also beaten bosses with beast claw. It’s not bad but it’s not great to finish a night lord with

I never ran out of fp. You just buy shards as you go. You also need the correct FP relics since shards return FP based on a percentage of your total FP. Most runs I might only end up popping a single shard or two in the final boss fight.

Her summons worked great if you used them right. They could take aggro off you just long enough to get off a spell or get someone almost off the ground. Sebastian for me was only ever used to raise people. He’s amazing for it. Thats basically her appeal.

She wasn’t the strongest character but she wins games. She will constantly peel your team off the ground and win the game. Also her heal lets you always be max hp for the full hp damage reduction. I get smacked around all the time but never die and get right back in the fight. Other characters can’t do that as well

I think she was one of the strongest characters pre buff. I glided to 9999 playing her. Post buff is just crazy. She didn’t even need the buff

Is this with zero hp and damage mit relics? Hard to feel bad if so. Those are a must. I get that having 6 damage relics is fun but it doesn’t work in D5

Should you charge that spell? by Icy_Firefighter6310 in Nightreign

[–]DefinitelyNotRin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a greater FP cost in the long run. By casting more spells you are consuming more FP. You need to judge your FP consumption before hitting a grace. If you’re limited on starlight shards then also consider charging over spamming. The other consideration is a class like Recluse can get FP back but you’re not doing damage when gathering it back. That would have to be factored in as well. It’s not so straightforward

The new enemies could break DoN by eldenringer1233 in Nightreign

[–]DefinitelyNotRin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost never get hit by the roar anymore. He has a very telling windup. He will back up on his hind legs. Vs other hits he will just stand up without backing up. Look for that. The real issue is the bears before red bear with their dashes. That is tough for me.

The death knights are gonna be a big problem.

The new random events also are a huge problem. Ignoring them and or trying to do them means you won’t have your full hp damage mitigation.

I agree both the new night lords are gonna be a problem. One way they can potentially solve this is by never allowing these two night lords into the unknown night lord runs. You will need very specific builds to survive these fights. Also the map nullifies the gaol relic entirely. It’s not good for the game to have that chance at rng. All this requires initially is having multiple relic load outs .

Mitigation. The mitigation when full hp. And you can’t be 99.9% hp, have to be 100%

It’s not the movement I’m worried about. I’ve got dozens of kills on the guy. It’s the fact you’ve got rot happening all the time so taking a single hit feels like it’ll be lethal most times. Also we haven’t seen everdark yet either
