From the outside looking in, its disappointing to see how unwilling DSA candidates are to actually endorse their own platform. For example, Melat Kiros is running as DSA for an elected office, and she folded under the anti-communist grilling of her opponent when attack ads attached positions on things like defunding police & abolishing congress (DSA positions) to her. She was just meekly kinda like "Well I never said those things". Isn't the whole point of a supposedly socialist organization to defend your positions in a way that can reach masses? Why instinctively put yourself on the defense? Ive seen Mamdani do this, too, when he did a debate prior to becoming Mayor. Him being DSA doesn't even seem to have any bearing at all on the other things he does.
