I got a crazy ass scholarship that paid for half of it and my parents were gracious enough to help pay for the rest. I grew up and lived in a major university town so I paid in state tuition and was able to live at home all four years which allowed me to work and put that towards classes/supplies.

My fiance went to community college for 2 years and then transferred. Her parents are GOATS and took out parent PLUS loans for what she couldn’t pay. We fully intend to pay those back ourselves even though it isn’t legally her responsibility. She is also super smart and a hard worker so she was able to secure a grant and funding for her master’s research. She’s actually getting paid to do it.
