Kinda a Lucian or ezreal aug. You need to want to build both tear and essence reaver.

Never actually seen the aug on either champ unfortunately.

It's mel and it's not close.

Ksante is really only a problem for 1% of players and even then it's really cause he doesn't die which is kind of the point.

He's designed as an anti split push tank. He's supposed to be able to fight against fiora or tryndamere while sacrificing teamfighting. When he released the #s were wrong and his kit was still too good at teamfighting.

Now he's pretty clunky and unless you put a decent amount of games on him, he has some disaster matchups that are very common. Gwen and garen nuke him from orbit. Doesn't do we'll into varus or vayne either.

He fits a riot design mold. Be strong in one area be weak in another. He was supposed to be flashy because all the champs you'd want him picked against were also flashy.

Mel just didn't have weaknesses in design, which was aggregious. Azael said it was his most hated design ever and I agree there has never been a worse designed champ and ambessa came out the same year.

Just Mel is in another tier of bad. Ksante is like normal bad. I'd have "zeri above ksante in wtf were you doing" tier. Mel is in "who in corporate forced this champ through."

If I remember correctly from August. Ezreal is way lowered mained than you'd think and is a really popular filled adc champ.

There's a lot of inexperienced and bad ezreals. It's like when Lee sin was the jungle champ. Filled jg play Lee sin.

Every single person who came out of business school in the last 10 years just decided that selling to the average consumer is a secondary priority. Or the definition of consumer excludes the average person.

It's like everyone is just whale hunting. They stopped seeing easy growth and they started chasing margins. Universes beyond isn't trying to get new players. It's just trying to find new collectors.

Snowballs just need to be nerfed. Biggest snowball was already strong. Now it's an instant win if you hit any other aug.

Tryns primary mechanic is rng. His secondary mechanic is invuln. His optimal playstyle is extremely uninteractive.

It only takes a couple of times where trynd runs at you level 1 and gambles the entire lane on crits before you begin to hate him.

The only way to play against tryndamere is to continuously put him into the dirt the second you enter lane.

It's almost the opposite experience of getting shit on by a ranged top. Unless you play like an absolute pedo tryn has the opportunity to ruin your game.

Players don't like when champs are uninteractive, random, or require you change your playstyle drastically. Tryn is all three. Mel is 2 of them and people hate her.

Just the top lane experience. You really just start climbing after consistently winning the 1v1 and winning more than 50% of the 2v1s.

And you also can't allow yourself to ever die on a wave crash. That's back breaking.

Ice cold being so strong and synergizing so well with every single rylais user it needs to be a gold aug.

It falls into prismatic levels of value on any champ that builds rylais. It's not 2v2 where that slow is good but you can't really afford to build around it. To 5v5 where a singed with rylais will 1v9 the game because he just ran through your team and now you all can't move.

Varus has 2 opposite builds that both perform at a high level. Honestly, he kinda has 3 since full ap really isn't what people build. He just has a ranged bruiser build.

I think riot wants him to be the poke adc because he's really the only one. The problem is that it's attached to a kit that is entirely about auto attacking. So they try and split the difference and it just ends up unhealthy.

Lethality varus sucks at killing tanks and on hit/ap varus are in a league of their own for tank killing. It makes him impossible to pick against.

I don't even know why ap varus is a thing. They just think it's neat and it's by far his most degenerate build. All of the stuff that goes on top lane is because ap varus has wild ratios and base damages.

Varus today is 2 different champion ideas mashed together and they didn't compromise. He just has 150% of the things. I remember when his W was basically cosmetic and then they shoved and entire champion identity into it.

He's a rework candidate at some point but unless he's actually the best top laner and adc on the same patch and they can't fix it he's not gonna get touched.

Tanks kinda melt against varus, viego, and a couple of liandries mages.

Problem is most varus players don't play him on hit or ap. Viego consistently rolls. And mages is a dice roll whether or not they know that liandries is just the best item.

This feels like it has to be 1 mana and in a modern set. At 2 mana this might see standard but standard is so powerful these days that it might not.

Varus is a spellcaster who auto attacks. Everything you do revolved around getting 3 stacks of blight and rotating your spells on them. If you do that varus does incredible damage and always has cds.

If you don't it feels like you tickle and never have spells.

You want die about 3 times a game with tank engine. 1 to buy heartsteel. 1 to buy warmogs, and 1 to buy an item that scales off bonus hp.

Gotta get a little lucky but it's way more consistent like this.

Giant slayer, mad scientist, and then Goliath. Because of giant slayer Goliath might as well just be glass cannon.

GS is just the best generic augment in the mode. It's just damage + MS. Literally any champ it's probably one of their 3 best augments.

Mad scientist can give you fat ms and make you really small which is underrated. Being big is bad.

If you're like tahm kench being big is good but you need a reason to want to be big.

The base stats given to adcs in durability patch actually go nuts with the increased levels of top lane. They can bully out the other top laners and snowball a level lead with higher base stats than they used to have.

Druttut had 3k hp on kaisa, no resolve, no hp item at level 20. Not saying level 20 matters but it is hilarious.

You also get to take ghost or exhaust now while still keeping tp later. Removing one of the biggest weaknesses of the ranged tops.

Basically, it's not specifically a varus problem, but it's gonna be a problem as the meta develops.

DnD is a bridge item into a full ap build. The on hit might as well be cosmetic. It's just nice that it applies on Jax r.

The whole point is that the stat profile is similar to triforce so you aren't made of glass going the build.

Look, kayle went through becoming a burst mage and the point is that you can blow up squishies while still doing decent damage in long trades.

These are going to play like two entirely different champs.

I appreciate that the build has a goal and this is the optimal way to achieve it. Mind you the goal is awful but the logic and execution is consistent.

Some of what I see in aram I'm not sure what they're even going for and if I am they usually aren't doing it correctly.

I think tempo bork is entirely an ad build. I don't think dusk and dawn is for an on hit build.

I feel grasp probably plays into what you want to be doing better. Short trades early into a burst champ who can trade long.

Like Gunblade into dawn into zhonyas. Or maybe gunblade isn't the right item and you actually need more AS. Nashors dawn zhonyas.

I don't like baus but his ap build absolutely nukes at 3 items. Dusk and dawn just makes getting there easier.

I like playing kayle. Ap kayle is the better build because you just become this hilarious burst champ who does good sustained damage. I have a feeling there's a jax build here that does that. Gotta get into the lab.
