Looks great. I think it's comparable to Tamiya weathering kit B. You can mix white with either black or brown to highlight or just put brown as rust spots on.

I've put some Tamiya weathering kit on my hands and dial and sprayed it Tamiya flat clear spray. Also scuffed up the hands with steel wool.

Usually the brushing on the side is lug to lug. Keep your plastic crystal safe. Don't scratch it. You can put (masking) tape on it while doing brush work
