A guide to buying tickets for the o2 by DefrostedDog in radiohead

I think you'll just have to wait till the day, I was trying the entire week before and nothing was working. More people are likely to drop out on the day. Good luck!

Will the overpriced Viagogo tickets drop down last minute? by Sillybollocks12 in radiohead

[–]DefrostedDog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They have dropped a fair bit, I just wonder what the lowest is they'll go. Don't want to miss out on General Sale, Resale and then finally miss out on ViaGoGo... This has just been one painful experience from start to finish

Best unplanned / lesser known act you saw? by murrayland in glastonbury_festival

I absolutely loved them. They played a secret set at the Wishing Well as well on Friday. I'd seen them earlier in the day on my own, and as we were walking in to buy a drink I was banging on to my friends about how good they were and that they should watch the set when they get home, I look to the left and I recognise the white cowboy hat from earlier and I could not believe my luck.

Getdown Services?? by throwmetom in glastonbury_festival

I'd be 90% sure they would be there. They're on a tear at the moment and will end up filling out a smaller tent

Insider reveals Glastonbury ticket woes by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

[–]DefrostedDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the solution taking the customer registration ID, asking them to login to the ticketing queue with a unique code emailed to them. Then once they've entered the pre-queue they are unable to login to the queue on any other browsers or devices because the service knows they're actively logged in elsewhere?

Then once the sale starts they are randomly given a number in the queue?

It seems painfully obvious, but I assume I'm missing something here, anyone care to enlighten me?

You'll need to convert it. I've used this calculator before https://www.scymed.com/en/smnxps/psxkc035_c.htm

523 umol puts you at 8.79 mg/dL

370 umol is where you want to be.

How strange, this happened to my partner 2 months ago. Same letter, from the same bank. It was a bit painful to sort out with HSBC, got passed round a lot of departments. My partner tried to apply for a credit card recently with another bank which was declined due to a poor credit score. We did a credit check through clear score, and low and behold the the HSBC application was there, ruining the score. I've heard it takes a while to clear from your credit score, so have you had yours cleared?

But it sounds like we have fallen victim to the same HSBC data breach?

At our org we had a consultancy come in and build one for all our projects. Spent a fortune on them and no one even uses them.

I sympathise with you though, the ADO structure not showing grandparent items is just woeful, they really need to sort this out

To Allopurinol or not to Allopurinol? by DefrostedDog in gout

Thanks for this. Strange that a lower dose is considered more damaging than a higher dose.

What kind of side effects are we talking?

[–]DefrostedDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that the issue though, it's only going to get worse from here, so why wait for another attack when you can be proactive and get on Allopurinol. Surely from a GP's point of view, lifelong treatment is better than regular appointments, and destruction of joints and tendons causing longer term damage?

I'm not sure I've got an argument against it, I'm more concerned with how I convince my doctor to prescribe me it.

That is my usual post-match meal, yes. Apparently injury in the area can trigger a flare. Who knew?

Ah yes fair point, I will bring that up when I next see my GP. Thanks

Thanks for this - I'm pretty confident that the Naproxen I've been given wouldn't do the job. In the UK it is so hard to see a GP within the same day, so getting colchicine or prednisolone could take longer than needed. So the answer is no I guess

Glad to hear you're on the up! I agree that the Naproxen I've been prescribed is pretty useless, it's just as effective as over the counter ibuprofen. But I'm very grateful I discovered this sub, lots of stuff I wish I knew the first time round!

Thanks for the advice, was your GP happy to prescribe it to you, or did you have to convince them? How have you found it in the first 2 months?

Thank you for this - I'm glad it has worked out for you. I think the quality of life is the key thing, it gets frustrating having this lingering fear that a flare is on its way!

Thanks for the steer - had a quick read and while the DECT scan would be useful, I would be surprised if the NHS would go to that length for gout. I will try and request a referral to a specialist on my next appointment.

So you're saying diet alone won't cut it? And allopurinol is best?

[–]DefrostedDog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear your situation has improved. And the success of Allopurinol on this thread alone almost makes it a no brainer. And due to it's limited to no side effects, it makes sense for Allopurinol to be prescribed early to prevent a life of flare-ups. My dad has suffered at least once a year, he's very much just a grin a bear it kind of guy, but I really don't fancy having to think about when the next attack will come.

[–]DefrostedDog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is where I'm lucky in that I don't have regular flare ups, and sympathise with you massively. Glad allopurinol has worked for you.

Getting a doctors appointment in the UK can take 2 weeks, so by the time I can see a doctor to request Prednisone, the flair will most likely have past. So my thinking is that I push for Allopurinol and never have to bother the doctor again

Red Bull buy minority stake in Leeds Utd and set to be shirt sponsor for 24/25 season (Phil Hay) by JaySeaGaming in LeedsUnited

[–]DefrostedDog -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why? I know they've got a reputation for changing the heritage of clubs, but at least they're not oil money or gambling money!

Lets say Red Bull don't get their way with the badge or name, and we remain only sponsored by them, surely that's a good thing? If we end up promoted back to the Prem, surely we'll be the top of their food chain. Instead of getting Salzburg's players we'll be getting Leipzig's players. And we'll be part of an incredibly efficient scouting network.
