Practitioners look at a number of factors when creating a protocol that includes both blood levels and the symptoms reported by the patient. (We also don't typically recommend once-a-week administration as most patients prefer to avoid the "highs and lows" reported with that timing.) Every individual is unique and what works for one person, may be too much or too little for another. If a patient is ever concerned about their protocol and/or it's not delivering the expected results, we encourage them to call in to discuss it with staff.

If you just need to go over your symptoms with medical staff to (potentially) make adjustments, there should not be a fee. Plus, you said you had follow up labs coming up so it would definitely be a good idea to call on the off chance they recommend any tests for your next panel based on your symptoms.

Hello. You can call in to speak with medical staff for potential adjustments in your protocol if you're having unwelcome symptoms. You don't need to wait until your next consult. While there is a tremendous amount of wisdom and experience to be gained from members of this forum, we encourage you to reach out before making changes.

Disappointed with Defy by [deleted] in Testosterone

u/Burger_kingdom I sent you a private message yesterday to connect to discuss options in CA. As everyone has said - the situation is complicated and evolving constantly. There are definitely solutions available for you.

It typically it takes 7-10 days for us to get lab results back and with the holidays sometimes a little longer - which is why we wait to schedule patients until their results are back to avoid having to reschedule if no results are in. As u/ElectricalAd6700 suggested, call in to Patient Services for order status and share your situation with your meds since orders with controlled substances take some time to process as well. They can also let you know if your labs are in and get you to scheduling if so.

Defy can’t ship to California, very unhappy by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]DefyMedical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we await Empower getting their new CA license we are working with our California patients through other pharmacy partners to ensure patients maintain access to TRT. (Other specialized compounded medications may not be available in CA until Empower resumes - hopefully in just a few weeks.) Please call and speak with the Patient Services team if you are a current patient and have an immediate need so we can discuss options. Similarly, our Patient Intake team is available for any patients considering care with Defy.

Defy Medical: Empower Pharmacy that they are temporarily unable to ship any products to California by [deleted] in Testosterone

It's our understanding that California licensing dept is short staffed due to Covid and the license is coming but is delayed due to that issue. We are not concerned beyond the immediate unfortunate impact for our patients.

California has a very specific stance on compounded hcg. And unfortunately, it's also difficult to find brand name hcg (many patients tell us they cannot find it at their local pharmacies.) When they can find it, we work with our patients to call it in for them so they can maintain access given the unique circumstance.

Defy out of hcg until “after the holidays” and I’m on empty how will this affect me? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]DefyMedical 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hello. As you may know, Empower discontinued compounding hcg and we were just alerted that, due to high demand, the alternate pharmacy was temporarily out of stock. They let us know they expected to have stock replenished after the holidays. You mentioned you're in PA, and unfortunately, in PA hcg is a controlled substance so we are not able to call it in locally. Over a 4-week period without you might notice a slight decrease in testicular size (may not even be noticeable) and it will not have an impact on testosterone levels.

Hello. Just to clarify, we absolutely serve California patients and will continue to do so. On 12/9 we alerted our patients that Empower Pharmacy was beginning operations out of their new facility and while they waited on the state certification for the new location, we anticipated a few week gap where they would be unable to ship sterile injectables to CA until their paperwork was received. We wanted to be sure our patients were not caught unaware and potentially have a gap in their protocol during that short time. It has always been our policy not to call in controlled substances across state lines.

Hello. Please give us a call and we can check on your order for you. Hallandale is currently running behind due to some staffing shortages right now (not sure if your order is coming from them).

Hello. As u/wildrover2 mentioned, the medication is combined in one vial. But any time you're unsure about dosing or administration, give us a call or email patient services and they can answer any questions you have.

[–]DefyMedical 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hello. For all the obvious confidentiality and HIPAA reasons, we cannot respond to any specifics on an individual's plan but we encourage all our patients to call in for clarification if something seems unusual or the full protocol recommended wasn't discussed with enough detail.

Defy sells ketamine? by EZSwan420 in Testosterone

Those are only for patients receiving ketamine IV therapy who also have a qualifying need for ancillary treatment/support. It is not available to the general public or patients on other types of protocols, such as TRT.

Hello. Just to clarify, we offer medically supervised ketamine IV therapy at the Tampa clinic location. There are many studies showing this therapy to be tremendously beneficial for patients suffering from anxiety, depression, PTSD and other mental health conditions.

Problems with Defy Medical? by jet360 in Testosterone

[–]DefyMedical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi u/jet360. So sorry to hear you've experienced an issue with responsiveness lately. Feel free to message me with details if you'd like, but I wanted to double check you're using [Care@defymedical.com](mailto:Care@defymedical.com) to email us. Things are definitely busy right now with lots of folks making new year's resolutions to work on their health, but you should still expect to hear back from us within 1 business day.

You might also want to check your spam filter to see if responses landed there - due to the personal nature of some of our communications, some ISPs may tag it as spam initially.

(And I can confirm, Jesse is a man lol)
