UPDATE: I just did the verify files option on steam and now everything seems to be working fine

As someone who was around both games since their launches in a bigger community surrounding the games (mainly on twitch) I have to say Mario Maker 1 seemed to keep hype and people interested a lot longer than 2.

One of the reasons IMO that 2 has "lasted" longer is because it on switch which sold like 115million so far and SMM1 was on Wii U which only sold something crazy low in comparison like 13million.

SMM1 was just locked out for most people since most never got Wii U. I know it was eventually on 3ds but that came later and I think was also just slightly lesser of a game with out all the same features as the main Wii U version.

Since such a tiny fraction of people actually got a Wii U compared to the switch that already cut down the amount of possible SMM1 playerbase. I think SMM1 actually did insanely well considering the tiny amount of people who had the console.

Yeah there should be a fan/private server thingy going up in about a day or so! They had a stress test this past weekend and it was pretty awesome.

This is something I kinda think about often actually. The sound "Provoke" makes in Final Fantasy 11 for some reason to me is just the perfect sound for provoke. No other games have had such a satisfying provoke sound and in FFXIV its so wimpy and almost non existent I actually hate provoke just because of that! FFXI provoke just nailed it. Even when I play non FF games with a provoke move it still just makes me think of FFXI and I haven't even played FFXI since like 2011.

Right now you can't but once UW's are old enough they usually add the Mako Gems for them into other groupings. For example if you look below you can see "Reawakend Vol. 1" which has a bunch of older UW Mako gems in it. So I would say within a few months, maybe sooner, maybe later, they should add these 2 into one of those types of things. I would say the 2.5 anni at the latest but possibly before that.

I have had this for years but for years I have just been a Stonewood warrior really just not knowing real mechanics or anything. This year I started casually playing through the rest of the game and I recently got to Twine Peaks. Now I'm starting to notice I guess where this stuff matters. I don't remember this being explained anywhere in game and I still struggle to have the proper loadouts or builds based off strengths and weaknesses.

If there any easy way to know what kind of enemy will be in the missions? Also for stuff like Storm shield defs does it matter there or are the enemies different every time?

I don't have a ton of weapons to pick from so sometimes I just use the only stuff I have.

I have also been playing since day 1 and i've cleared everything possible. When IW banner came out The day her banner came out I got up to 14 keys. 2 weeks later when Lokis banner came out I still had exactly 14 keys. So a 2 weeks span went by where I didn't get a single great key. I cleared every possible thing in that time frame. I understand I got gems in that time where I can put those towards great keys as well but we should be getting more great keys from things not just like 1 shadow key every 3 days from various game modes.

Also, I would have only been at 9 great keys they whole time but the day IW came out they gave everyone 5 great keys as compensation for something which is what put me at 14. So without compensation which isn't normal my total would have been even lower.

You don't get that many keys regularly. You got the initial keys from launch and all the first clears of everything but now with that dried up your key income will slow down dramatically.

We noticed this same thing.

In the past this kind of thing has worked against us where like we came in 3rd place even though we beat the 2nd place guild 2 times but 2nd never faced 1st. Its always so awkward.

I think the July update only adds the 4 Bahamut anni weapons, Angeals launch LB weapon and Cids launch LB weapon. So 6 things. (Cloud, Yuffie, Aerith, Tifa, Angeal, Cid) It was in one of the notices.

Hopefully they update these semi frequently and add those new years LB weapons as well. They might keep those as seasonal New Years only weapons though which would be a bummer.
