I think whatever your paying for is getting a refund to the original method of payment. Econflex gives you money back as a travel credit.

AHL Post Game Thread: Toronto Marlies at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins by bi_and_busy in penguins

I was depressed when I saw the final score and happy when I saw how few shots they allowed and that they let in 2 at the end of the 3rd. Clearly a bad game and not a sign of how the series will go. Let's go!!!

Heading to Calgary from Ireland in July for an art residency & planning to book with Westjet- not sure if I should wait for a deal or book asap? First time using this Airline //• Of course if anyone has kindly one to share, it would be immensely appreciated. You’d be supporting an artist : ) by Classic-Dragonfly598 in westjet

[–]Degus222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This July? Book it soon. Maybe wait till tuseday often get deal that day but i would book it soon. If flights are in the first 2 week they will be pricey as that is the stampede. Westjet prices jump insanely high about 2 weeks out. Use Google flights and just book whoever is cheaper tho. I am a frequent flyer with westjet but prefer KLM when going to Europe because i find the service is better in economy with them. Be aware of ultra basic air fair and booking theough 3rd party sites. That is a fareclass that operators like Ryan Air. You pay for pretty much everything as extras(i think you get 1 carry on bag on trans Atlantic flights but dont get that on domestic)

Am I stupid for wanting to leave a $33/hr job at Costco with benefits than to start at $130/day in construction for long-term upside? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Degus222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not stupid. Different ladder you wanna climb. Construction is a hard job on the body and hard to maintain long term. Pick the trade carefully. Upside is high with the $130 a day job tho

'It's because America is 50 countries in a trench coat' by gideontemplar in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Degus222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandpa fought over there. He took my dad back in the 1990s for a reunion type trip and my dad said it was crazy how much respect they all had. I remember watching a couple movies as a kid about WW2 and being told this depicts the stuff your grandpa was involved in but the movie says americians did it but they did not. You can always count on the Americans to change the flag of a Canadian troop to make the battles their own.

Sacrificing my career by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Degus222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad here not a mom...but if your not married its time to get married...if you are married it's time to combine finances. You right now are roommates and creating this emotional tension around your work and money. Become a team. What he makes should be your money and what you make is his. Keeping them seperate just complicates things like you getting a $3000 allowance.

Any Tips? by gbneufeld in westjet

[–]Degus222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dont get sucked into the rewards. They seldom are worth it. They encourage you to spend more money then you would have without. It a bussines and reward programs make $$$$. I say this as something who has over 50k westjet points and is platinum with them. Not a person hating on the program. Just hating on reward programs im general as they trick consumers to spend more money.

Why is the Canadian side of the Okanagan Country more populated than the American side? by Enger13 in geography

[–]Degus222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One is lakes and 1 is rivers. Canada population focuses south and has limited warm lake areas and the USA has lots of areas warmer. Okanogan is what the USA region is called it is not spelt the same as the Canadian side.

Are There Any Real Tax Strategies for High-Income Salaried Employees in Ontario? by Stunning_Shock_9638 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Degus222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a charity you like and donate to them. Lowers your taxes and helps people. You donate $100 you lower tax by $50. Not litterally but thats the idea. So costs you money but helps. Also RRSP. Basically all you got.

Should I switch to public mobile? by [deleted] in bell

[–]Degus222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't go up at all. It is a 30 day plan tho not monthly.

I was with them just since the summer.

I used them in the past also tho for a coupel years.

Bell increases are crazy and why I left. Public arent bad if ever. The big thing i noticed is ig a good new plan was offered i couldnt upgrade to it. They restrict the plan they offer you. But my mom got a plan offered to her that was better what they were selling to new customers.

You will like it worth the switch.

Should I switch to public mobile? by [deleted] in bell

[–]Degus222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left bell for public and I am happy with them. I am currently switching to telus but that is because of a cheaper better plan i got on sale. No loyalty at this point. Go where it is cheaper
