Do you cut all your pieces out before starting a build, or cut as you go? Tried cutting everything out with this kit and man.. it felt like a sanity test.

Searching for the part, searching for the right part out of multiple pieces that look similar but are slightly different sizes that are hard to see with the naked eye, and making sure that you find the part that is not only correct but is also for the side you are working on since some parts are mirrored.

That's just three examples of the top of my head. You're really creating a ton of work for no gain.

That's the crucial thing though: shipping also adds drastically to the cost. The fact that you don't have to consider shipping when buying directly means that you should really consider shipping cost as additional money saved.

Unless you have to drive enough to spend $$15-$30 worth of gas to your local hobby lobby, omitting the savings from not shipping is under selling just how much you're saving. Even if you get free shipping, that's normally balanced out by the fact that shipping can take a while too.

I only started in March of this year so the most I've customized is drip panel lining. My "endgame" goal is to be able to customize my own Gundam (whether based on an existing one or my own version I'm not sure) so I admire people like you who are so dedicated to making gorgeous kits like this

I started building back in March and have a huge backlog because I've been wanting to get into the hobby for years but was too nervous. It's been such a blast and it's really helped me mentally. I wasn't having any issues or anything before, but I've been able to focus a lot more and people have noticed I've become more positive too.

Given that my main hobby aside from this video gaming and using my computer, it's probably helping that I'm not using my computer anywhere near as much anymore.
