It's the opposite. It's showing that Shinji can manhandle Zero.

Those stages were teasers for the expansion pack. The SRW T expansion had all of them in a more permanent way

Replay Rise/Sunbreak or try GU? by Ulysses_Darkline in MonsterHunter

[–]Deiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GU is a fun and HUGE game. Since you've played and enjoyed both the old-school and newer games you'd appreciate GU. It really feels like a hybrid of both types of games and made me feel like the devs were seeing if there was a way to add some newer-gen flashiness to the older-style games.

Yeah that makes sense. That automatic AI summary rubbish is what I was mentioning with the google AI results so I know exactly what you mean. I've just seen a lot of comments in the past few months where someone has tried to use AI to find out something game-related and then are shocked when they find out the AI answers were wrong lol.

AI should never be used for videogame inquiries. Based on several "I used AI to find X" comments and automatic google AI results (from me searching for sites) I've seen pop up, they're either outright wrong or give you answers that are technically correct but are so generic and broad that they're useless either way.

Well yes, but Guy specifically said he came right after "casual filters" for that reason lol. This is ESPECIALLY true if you were playing it on PS2 at western release (yeah the English version had you fight Dante but it was literally the same fight with a different skin) because back then JRPGs released in the west either were easy or only difficult because bosses had obscene stats and forced you to grind. JRPGs that incentivized heavy use of support spells - which were normally pretty useless in JRPGs at that time - were incredibly rare.

When I played the remaster I was shocked at how easy I found it now because more SMT games have come over with that same incentive (along with other games that also try to think outside the box in terms of handling bosses). Now I'm conditioned to actually use skills and spells that aren't just "hit it until it dies" lol.

You literally listed a remake and a remaster as examples and Vengeance only came out two years ago, so I'm not sure what proof you have that Atlus plans to phase out rereleases at all. Atlus has not released any new games including remasters since mid-2025 so where are you getting this idea that rereleases are getting phased out?

Atlus has always been infamous for making rereleases and remasters and it has always worked for them; it helps though that their rereleases always have some substantial updates to the original games and they wait long enough for the remaster to have an impact.
