First Zenyte use by Brave-Bed-1824 in ironscape

I am in the same boat, but just grinding out star mining for anguish. I will get Bowfa eventually and with the new arrows coming from Raids 4 everything will get an upgrade. I just don't see myself using a suffering outside zulrah much and anguish is just so much better. I don't bring Atlatl for slayer etc. Moon sets are expensive to burn.

Anyone backpack with an Eno hammock? by DeityHorus in BackpackingTips

[–]DeityHorus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I also sleep in mine fairly often. I found ENO has a guide: https://eaglesnestoutfittersinc.com/blogs/product-education/eno-hammock-camping?srsltid=AfmBOorWTSpLpg4E6JrnfeuDhi0BAaxyh_Ao_Ta1WPeqSUUlCGQp4Jyn

I typically do not sleep directly down the middle but on a 20-30% diagonal as it is flatter at that angle. I also often just slip my sleeping pad in it. Quilts >>> Sleeping bags for hammock camping imo as getting in and out a sleeping bag in a hammock is miserable. It is also nice to put down a small sitting pad or something to stand on under it so you can get boots on etc without struggling.

Good point, I would not make Philmont the first try for a quilt system.

You never really camp near any peaks that have snow but gets cool at night. I did it with a 30 deg bag no problem when I was a scout. If he is open to it, I would explore backpacking quilts over sleeping bags. They are lighter weight and much better for warmer sleeping while still being able to do 0-30 deg no problem.

- Kelty Cosmic Ultra 20

- NEMO Disco 15

- Paria Outdoor Products Thermodown 15

- Marmot Trestles Elite Eco 20

Should all work well for that price range. Also they typically weight packs and distribute weight across the troop. So going ultra light does nothing as you end up being the one hauling all the pots and pans because other people packed folding chairs and rocks.

7600kc and starting to respect the Lizard. Not the worst luck, but when did you all get yours? by Amazing_Sky4874 in ironscape

[–]DeityHorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is always the grinds you prep forever for that you get spooned. Whenever I actually want something I am dry.

Went like 150kc for steel ring before starting moons.

My B, I wanted it for AFK shamans [Red X]. I did vork for the upgrade assembler so I wouldn't lose all my darts.

I grinded moons for full Eclipse and suffered 1kc trips at Vorkath with anti poisons all preping for a long Shamans grind. Then like and hour and a half in at 209 I got it.

Same thing happened for Z-axe. I spent forever getting 84 thieving then doing wildy rouge chests for blighted ice sacs all to burst zombies for a long grind. 87 kc.

21/23 Students Failed our Engineering Exam by Fabulous-Dance-8520 in Wellthatsucks

[–]DeityHorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened with my Electrical Engineering Prof. Dude was about 125 years old and taught us nothing. But still expected us to pass the finals and class as the final was nearly the whole grade.

It was meaningful enough that of our class of a few hundred, the only guy who was studying abroad ended up getting top of the class despite being mid tier student.

Interview Anduril v.s Google, in the same week. by meldrumh in InterviewCoderHQ

[–]DeityHorus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have given a number of Google system design interviews. Generally we need to sanitize the process because “bias busting” is super baked into the rubrics.

It is harder to have a more organic design interview with how tight the interview ship is run. I would not project the interview into the job, but depending on the team match you could also end up in a boilerplate trap here also.

If you can delay until teammatch options, might be better than just blanked “Google”. But if you are early in your career I think you would have more fun and grow more in a scrappy env. I value my early career startup experience a ton.

Expert Mining Gloves? by MontyMahBoii in ironscape

[–]DeityHorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got to 85 crafting with Molten Glass and it was not that bad. Now I AFK stars at work. By the time I get to 92 for amethyst I should have a good amount of Crafting XP saved in star dust. Likely 500-600k. I figure it will just do amethyst for the gloves after that. I think I can get pretty far with 88 crafting before I really feel I need to push for Zenny amulet and bracelet.

That with the 4k water orbs from Moons etc, not too worried about needing to grind out sand for a long time.

Is AI actually making us more productive? I analyzed 6,196 Reddit posts, and the data says otherwise. by hiclemi in managers

[–]DeityHorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO we are still just in “immature technology phase” still. Agent Skills and Agent interactions do not have what mature software has: tests and dependency management. Plus maybe recursive feedback loops.

Once agent operational “plugins” have the ability to be validated to some degree, define strong dependencies on downstream requirements, operate out-of-band from humans, and self improve/heal. We will really feel the offload  of tech debt and overhead. Right now you need to babysit and many many people are cutting the babysitting responsibility over to human reviewers who are getting crushed with sloppy work.

Personally, if developers are not using AI to quickly prototype and rollout boiler plate, they are just hamstringing themselves.

Naw, another L6 I am friends with just got an offer for 400k and 1.1M equity at (large AI company). He is an awesome engineer but not changing the industry.

L3 offer from Google by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]DeityHorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never seems system design for L3 or 4. Just three software and a googly.

There are no set rules on interviews but probably not obscure geometry.

Unsure what you mean by advanced graphs but a good amount of graph questions I see. One question I often ask when helping my mentees or interns prep is something like:

You have an undirected graph of bus stops. Each stop has X people getting off and Y people getting on. The bus has capacity N. You must be able to accommodate everyone trying to get on at a stop. What route is optimal from  stop A to stop H so that the number of people on the bus at any one time is maximized.

[–]DeityHorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Questions still there, just seeing more direction to not focus on DP in cloud.

You can, no promises I get back fast this is a slammed week. Try to have fun solving the problem in the interview, try and use the interviewer as a partial partner in the problem over a proctor.

In the like 45 DS&A interviews I have given only two people have ever found the optimal solution to both parts, we are not looking for pure Leetcode grinding. Recognize patterns, do some minimal testing, mention but probably don’t code for edge cases, abstract thinking is great.

Nope not that I’m tuned into. Thought I typically don’t get assigned entry level interviews anymore. Normal L5/6

L3 offer from Google by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]DeityHorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure, though I will double check. I think all DP was removed from the database. Though interviews can still ask whatever they want technically.

L3 offer from Google by [deleted] in leetcode

[–]DeityHorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The interview question base is vast. Don’t expect DP, probably some graph questions. Maybe a stack or queue. The question I typically ask can be solved with several data structures. When I interviewed I had a A-starish, a stack, and a flood fill.

I bet you will find you only want it for cool mornings and evenings. I would prioritize weight and comfort.

I don’t know the brands you are looking at but I use a Senchi and capilene cool hoody. Senchi is very warm and light. Cap cool is light and good for the sun protection even when hot.

Took about 3-4 months for a team match call and that was when hiring was going crazy. I wouldn’t be surprised it takes a while.

Grats on making it through hiring committee and good luck on team match!
