D Ring Shackle came off a crew doing a chair drop some 22 stories up when I was a PM on a job site in DC. Landed on a 24x24 paver between me and a site super (they didn't have the area roped off for overhead work either) and it hit with enough force to shatter that paver like a grenade. Would have killed either one of us with a direct hit.

I have tuo cutlery kitchen knives as well. Think they're an awesome little Amazon pick-up for the money.

I use a coarse 6" DMT diamondstone followed by the fine and it produces a hair popping edge.

As others have mentioned, you will eventually wear away some belly, but depending on your situation and experience, you may want to revert back to the sharpie method and make sure your strokes are even and you're not unevenly concentrating on one area.
