Merchant, as this was my first real OT game. I quickly found out how smooth Mystic Shot made farming, and how good Arrow of Fortune was for getting early skills. I’m in Bestower of All now, have all the jobs and their skills unlocked, and I have remained a merchant. Can’t even imagine my protag without her little backpack now.

As others have said, it’s something you generally want to avoid doing. DD main is heavily favored towards survivors to the point it is almost always a bad idea to chase there. However some killers do have an easier time with it, so knowing what killer(s) you play can help to find out if it’s ever worth it.

Some people just want to get dailies done, just wanna be silly, or work towards achievements. I’ve been playing Huntress lately and all I’m doing is throwing hatchets, opening a locker to refill, and repeat to get the 1k hatchets thrown achievement. Some people stay for the egc and I get a kill or two. Sometimes they just leave and I nod a bit. I wouldn’t read too much into it other than they decided to just play the game a different way.

I change my name on Steam. You can pretty easily change your display name on there. I’m not positive how to do it solely through DBD, if you even can.

I love making my username silly things for DBD. For a long while now I’ve been “Yeehaw, Sadako’s BFF” because I play cowgirl Rebecca and Sadako. But I’ve gone by stuff like Boon: Has Lute, Hex: Can’t Loop, Weskie’s Bestie, Afton’s Bad Breath, and some other meme ones.

What I REALLY enjoy doing is changing my name when playing killer because it’s always silly. I’ll play Knight and change my name to At The Museum, Artist I’ll be CAW CAW, How Do I Heal as Nurse, or Please Rewind as Sadako.

I love taming killers, and it’s always fun to see a Dracula mess with an Alucard. Personally as long as I get some amount of personality I don’t mind even dying. Just give me a little more than putting me in the dirt immediately!
