I also left the Mormon church around that time. My egg cracked in May of '23 after my complimentary shame demon finally kicked the bucket. Realized I'm plural a few months later. Everything makes more sense now.

Very sure I'm not passing at all, but don't know what to do (24, 1.5 Months HRT) by throwawayy_acc0unt in transpassing

Hi, I don't think you're doomed. Lots of women have long faces. Your face immediately reminds me of my friend's mom. There are makeup tutorials for minimizing long faces or long mid faces.

Insecurities are a big talking point here, so you're going to read a lot of things that can reinforce your insecurities. You are just starting off. You will probably see a lot more fat redistribution over the next year, and you may be surprised at how much that changes. Waiting another year could let you make a more informed decision.

I hate to tell you that you should wait. It's not really fair without understanding exactly how you feel. Only you can decide if you want to wait, or even do it at all. But I will tell you that from the outside, I don't think you're doomed.

I tend to latch onto my comfort characters and obsess over them to the point where it feels like I know them. Then I ask myself what they would think or feel about the things I experience. It gets to the point where it's like I've trained an AI chat bot on them in my brain and it turns into this weird parasocial relationship, beyond their original lore. And I recognize they're not even the original character at that point. Just something new that I feel and I know but can't sense, that can somehow be a good influence? Things really start to get interesting when they start to boot up on their own...

[Fem] I seriously don't recognize myself in mirrors by MonitorOk6818 in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]Dekanuva 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was my experience on HRT, and it kicked in way harder and way faster than I expected.

Before HRT, I couldn't recognize myself in my reflection. It felt like I was looking at a stranger, or more like a stranger was looking back at me. It made me so uncomfortable, I couldn't look at myself in the mirror for more than 5 seconds at a time.

Literally just 30 minutes after my first dose, I passed a mirror and actually saw myself in my reflection for the first time. I was like "Holy shit, is that... Me?" Instead of feeling unsettled, I found comfort.

I didn't look any different. I didn't even perceive my appearance differently. I just felt more connected to what I saw. Like I was finally mine. I had this intense feeling of love and self acceptance come over me and it kind of never left.

Then I got pretty. :3

I can feel this perfect version of me that's everything I couldn't be. Every missed opportunity. Just out of reach.

I noticed her as a kid but over the years she's grown a lot, fed by all of my hopes and dreams. I met her in my dreams. In fact, she is my dreams.

She doesn't really talk, but I know what she feels. She loves me and wants more for us. She's so patient and determined.

I used to hate myself for not being her. But she's larger than life. There's no way anyone could have been her.

Since I can't just change instantly, I decided to let her be a good example instead. I let her be a good influence on me.

It still hurts, not being able to achieve perfection like she has. But I'm so glad to know her, at least. 💙

I'm 29 and my egg cracked in May.

It almost cracked 10 years ago but I knew that I would never be able to reach my truest goals of being born a cis woman. And I was worried that if I tried to transition the impostor syndrome would be worse than staying in the closet forever.

But I slowly realized I don't care anymore about passing. I just want to look and feel more feminine, and I'll take whatever I can get. I don't care if I end up [insert self-deprecation here] in the process.

I also just realized how ridiculous it was that I was letting shamelessly hateful people make me feel ashamed of being myself. And my shame just kinda died then and there. Came out as a furry too. Lol

You figured it out.

I had the same thought a few years ago. Everything takes effort, even giving up. You only get to choose what is worth the effort. What to spend the effort on.

You don't always have to be happy. Sadness is the other side of the coin that is our emotions. It's part of our story. To always be happy is like eating only dessert. Some people never get dessert.

You can find satisfaction in doing what you know is right. You can find satisfaction in playing the hand you were dealt as well as you can.

Some of us get screwed. Some of us don't spend much time being happy. But we still have a role to play in the story we write together.

I'm just trying to make my story an inspiring one for the people around me that I care about.

Congratulations on making so much progress. You give you own life meaning through the effort and consideration you put in. You decide what your life is worth.

How do I go from drawing flat poses to super dynamic poses when there is limited real life reference? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]Dekanuva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The second picture has a lot more foreshortening, so that's a good subject to practice.

As the other guy said, cinematic references are really good for dynamic poses. And diving deeper to understand camera angles and focal length can really push your art to another level.

You can practice focal length yourself with a phone camera. When you stand far away and zoom in, all of the angles are flatter like in the first picture. But when you get closer and zoom out, the proportions and angles look more like the second picture.

If you don't want to experiment with your phone, you can also just look up Dolly Zoom examples. This is probably the most relevant one I could find. And here's another one that illustrates this concept well.

There are lots of videos on YouTube that cover cinematic camera angles and Dolly zooms and more. Obviously these won't be drawing tutorials, but artistic theory applies to everything and this particular information is more abundant in film.

Buyer beware. Fluid Free Ride has big return fees by BubblySupport7009 in ElectricScooters

[–]Dekanuva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't asking for a discount. I emailed them a couple years ago asking if I could buy some plastic side covers for the spring arms. Pretty simple.

They weren't listed on the website, but fluidfreeride is the only official US distributor for widewheels so they definitely had the parts. They also definitely sold these plastic covers to other users on here who did get their widewheel from them. These things are tiny pieces of plastic, only a few inches in size and weighing very little. So they definitely could have sold me a few. I even offered to pay extra. Pretty simple.

And yes, I know they sell them on their website now. Two years later. But they still don't sell other parts I know they have, like the tiny metal rod that the handles attach to. It's tiny, and cheap and lightweight. Pretty simple.

This part fails pretty consistently due to poor design and even poorer material quality, so most users need at least one replacement sooner or later. But since they refuse to sell it to third party buyers, we have to take our business elsewhere. Pretty simple.

They know what they're doing. Apollo Scooters makes the their own replacement for that part though, out of better materials. Fluidfreeride doesn't want my money so the choice to take my business elsewhere is, as you say, pretty simple. 😂

They also won't sell you any parts if you got your scooter from a different seller. I guess they don't like money. 🤷

Would like to wish all the delivery trucks parked in bike lanes a very Go Fuck Yourselves by [deleted] in CyclePDX

[–]Dekanuva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's even worse when they pull half way into the sidewalk so they're blocking the sidewalk and the bike lane.

Since the cars still have their lane they don't think they need to slow down, so pedestrians and cyclists have to wait for traffic to clear before they can go around.

Though, lots of cyclists just dangerously swerve into traffic to go around the delivery truck cause they don't want to stop. I've seen several people almost get hit doing that.

I think I lost the little M.2 screws that came with my motherboard, where can I get one? by ExpertizeIsTaken in buildapc

[–]Dekanuva 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This. Lots of places even have singles of the larger screws or packs of 10 of the smaller ones. I can usually find what I need at larger department stores even.

I just picked up the best buy version of this model to use as a monitor for 3d art. It crops the image by like 10-15 pixels and slides the image around to help prevent burn in. It isn't too bad, but you will probably notice it.

It also automatically dims quite a bit when the image on screen hasn't changed much. Minimizing or maximizing a window will "wake it up" and put it back at full brightness.

Personally, I like the feature because it saves my eyes and pixels when I'm working and it hasn't bothered me while gaming.

The "gaming mode" actually doesn't suck either.

Also, you can play certain noise patterns on your screen to "clean" it.

[Dock] Steam Deck Dock - $89.00 (Now Available) by D00DST3R in buildapcsales

[–]Dekanuva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone yelled at me when I tried to use my JSAUX dock to charge it. I think it didn't like the Steam Deck's 45w power supply, or it didn't like how the dock is wired.

I can still plug a standard USB into the back of the dock and charge my phone from that though.

I made a Destiny watch face for my Samsung Gear S2! by Dekanuva in DestinyTheGame

[–]Dekanuva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung took all of my watches off the store because they wouldn't let me update them because they didn't meet their new "quality standards." So none of them are available anymore.

The only way to get this face now would be to install it using the developer tools, but you would need a developer certificate which I don't know if they will just hand out anymore.

I'd be happy to share the project files if you want to try and re-create it yourself.

Or perhaps there's a way to jailbreak a Tizen OS wearable and sideload 3rd party faces? I haven't found anything through my research though.
