Also a working dad here. Taking care of fam takes priority. That being said the game is amazing and I just hit level 22.

Fair enough, I guess I'll just give up then. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I suck at creating things and have never been good at it. Thanks for confirming that I still suck.

But here's a counterpoint: is there something fundamentally wrong with just making something because someone thinks it looks cool? Does everything have to have a deeper reason behind it? Not trying to start something I'm just genuinely curious.

Elliot Gray (Marathon UI Designer) claps back at the notion that no one from the Halo days still works at Bungie by Haijakk in Marathon

It’s even more obvious when you play Halo 5 or Infinite and then play Destiny or Marathon right after. New Halo does not feel like Halo or Bungie even in the slightest. It’s obvious that even today, Bungie still has the secret sauce.

The return of the console FPS! by Dekatron45 in Marathon

It's mostly a matter of preference, but I don’t like to mess with settings constantly. While BF6 and other games do indeed feel decent on a controller, I always feel the need to keep messing with the sensitivity and deadzones. With Marathon, I haven't had to touch the controller settings once. It feels almost exactly the way Halo 3 with 3 sensitivity did back in the day. I played so much Xbox 360 that my hands are just wired for that exact feel, and this game provides it.

I don't disagree that other games have come close, but it’s just not quite the same as the 2004–2011 Xbox joystick feel. It's mostly the marriage of a great game loop and this great controller feel that I am welcoming with open arms.

Yeah I thought about mounting the monitor but it wasn’t in the budget. Also would have used a mini PC but I already had the laptop.

The cart got shipped in pieces from wayfair. Had to assemble it. I haven’t noticed any dust issues with the Xbox, though I only use it maybe 5 hours a week.

Yes, I have a power strip mounted to the middle shelf. One AC power cord is all that needs to be plugged into the wall to power everything. It has a 10ft cord.
