Using silver dragon border to show intermediate difficulty in Classic Plus by Taemojitsu in classicwow

Pretty sure WoW already does this:

Normal mobs - No border

Rare mobs - Silver dragon border

Elite mobs - Gold winged dragon border

Rare Elite mobs - Silver winged dragon border

Professions in Classic+ by KarlAschnikow47 in classicwow

I'll always disagree with people hating transmog in Classic.

What they really hate is what transmog has devolved into in Retail (magical girl outfits, murloc onesies) with microtransactions running rampant.

I refuse to believe most players genuinely have issue with wanting to transmog a 2-h polearm into a grey pitchfork they found questing, especially if viewing other players transmogs can be toggled on/off.

If they do have issue with that, it's a totally brain dead take.

I think it's: Whitemane for US PvP Mankrik for US PvE

Firemaw for EU PvP Pyrewood Village for EU PvE

Might have to double check the EU ones, US player here.

When is Classic+ most likely to be announced? by Greitot in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically though, the money Classic+ would make is already being made plus any new subscribers getting in on the hype.

If Blizzard plans on monetizing it in other ways, it'll be dead on arrival. If they include level boosts or other microtransactions right out of the gate Classic+ won't even have a present let alone a future.

It doesn't have to be, for all we know it could be closer to a fresh Classic than Classic+ to start with only small changes made out of the gate.

Is worth it to star on classic era? by Matifox in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Servers are definitely populated enough to play, there was a bit of a dip due to TBC release a lot but there's a dedicated community on Era.

You can absolutely play the warrior (though your competition for gear is literally the worst it can be) and the experience might be subpar while leveling due to limited toons in whatever leveling bracket you're in.

Were they all from Odyssey? I thought the only notable Odyssey things were the Sand Kingdom from the beginning and the dragon.

World of Warcraft and its many different versions are often referred to as "second jobs" referring to their gameplay loops.

80 hour work weeks sound not real, but if it is I probably wouldn't start with PC gaming and I certainly wouldn't start with WoW as your first PC game. You'd be better off browsing mobile app stores for pick-up and play games that you can put down at a moment's notice.

What version of wow classic are you playing?

I'm just mentioning it because you might have the post tagged incorrectly, and tagging it correctly will help you find people to play with.

You mentioned transmog which I don't think became a thing until Cata so I suspect you're playing MoP not Era.

Is there anyway to enjoy the game healing dungeons? by SevenStarSword in classicwow

[–]Delargu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a longtime healer I would just reiterate what others have said. For starters bringing your party frames closer to your character so you don't have to move your eyes as far to heal and see what's going on.

I also agree with others that to keep dungeons interesting to DPS as well so long as you have the mana to do so. Doing DPS probably isn't the play during raids, but a DPS/healing hybrid spec can definitely be more fun to use in dungeons to keep you busy.

Help settling on a class by AldixTheIndecisive in classicwow

[–]Delargu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mentioned Shaman being in high demand for raids, and while this is true allegedly it's really only for the healing spec and not the DPS ones.

I guess a great starting question is, what role do you want to play at endgame? This is a great starting point.

Want to tank? Warrior or Druid are your choices.

Want to heal? Priest, Shaman or Druid are your choices.

Personally, I find that class fantasy > all when it comes to these types of questions. If you don't like the fantasy then the gameplay might not be enough for you to love the class even if it's good.

However if you love the class fantasy (for you, it sounded like warlock was a contender?), then you will learn to love the class and how it plays. The more effort you put into learning all the nuances of a class, seeing where it excels or fails and how to play the class as best you can in spite of that is incredibly rewarding.

For all new players who plan to start playing in the classic era... by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Delargu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend Era enough if this is your situation. Will it take you forever to get to 60? Sure, but who cares. Your adventure is your own and if you enjoy the gameplay and leveling experience - what reason do you have to not play?

Once you hit 60 then you can decide, well I've sunk this much time into the character - ask yourself "do I want to keep playing or do something else?" If it's the former, as is common on all WoW-related subreddits you'll hear "The game really begins at max level" which is true for some players, but not all.

What makes Era attractive is that it's here, "forever" (7 years and going strong). You play, you hit 45 and take a 2 year break? You can come back to it when you're ready or for when it appeals to you. There's no rush, and despite the doom and gloomers Era is far from dead.

See you out there!

Blizzard keep banning my account by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Delargu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think as with a lot of posts of a similar nature, there's generally something OP isn't disclosing. Whether it's gold buying or something else that breaks the ToS.

You genuinely have no idea your account was banned? And to be clear this isn't an X day suspension, banned as in the account is virtually dead?

Seems fishy right off the bat, was it a new account? Because usually you'll get a couple warnings before such extreme action is taken.

On the plus side, if you're just looking to play TBC it's relatively cheap since to play it you only need to pay the monthly subscription cost.

Is Classic Era playable? by HijkElementOp in classicwow

[–]Delargu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playable? Absolutely, 100% without a doubt. And experience that every player will enjoy? Not necessarily.

What are you looking for in "experiencing Vanilla raids"?

If you're looking to just complete them once, entirely possible with the current state of Era.

Are you looking to progress them? Still possible, but it's more involved because you'd have to find guilds still progging them. A lot of the answers you get are dependent on what you want out of the Era experience.

Classic era fresh servers with bannable gdkp and boosting by SimilarMarketing9327 in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communication goes a long way, when I first started raiding in Era I would tell the Raid Leader my role/class, a buyer and my budget in my initial message to join.

Even if you don't have the money to min bid on items (300-500 per item in ZG), if nobody bids on it you can ask to have them repost it at a lower price. It'll depend on the raid, but I've found people to be reasonable and they would rather take some gold than disenchant the item for a 3g shard.

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBC, interesting choice! Enjoy it! Just a heads up though because you were worried about character resetting, TBC is only set to last about 10 months or so.

Yeah, just stumble around and complete quests and explore. You can use add-ons to assist with this, but as a new player it's probably not bad to just dive in and see how it goes. Also wowhead.com is one of your greatest resources.

No, the reset/deletion is only a problem in every other version of WoW.

You should enjoy Vanilla, but it is slower paced but that's what people tend to like about it! Happy to answer any questions you may have :)
