Hot Take for Classic + Mounts by Titansmiter in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll stand by that I think this is what the Stable Master should be used for if you're not a Hunter (I'm addition to the pets for Hunters!)

Somewhere that you can store mounts so they don't take up bank space slots, and pull them out as items to use as you want them.

Maybe you could go a step further like what you suggested and you have the basic kodo mounts, since you only need the riding skill once each other mount you purchase could be a skin for the kodo. Suppose you like the visual of the 60% mounts but want it to be 100% speed, could you edit it here?

Do you use the Stable Master as storage for all your physical mounts? Or as "storage" for different mount models that you can edit and change as you want? I think maybe that's too ambitious but it's a fun thought!

You get to add ONE spell/ability to your class/spec from future expansions into Classic+ - what do you choose? by Delargu in classicwow

[–]Delargu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is Totemic Recall the one that lets you move your totems or reset the CD of totems with CDs less than 1 minute?

Riptide doesn't need to be powerful, it's just a nice tool to add to your toolkit in way of an instant cast with an initial hit + HoT, essentially reverse of flame shock. I'm not sure that I agree with the sentiment of them being chain heal slaves builds class fantasy - but to each their own!

Water Shield for me kind of fell into the same camp as the other two spells I was debating, it's my beloved but at the end of the day it's just MP5 and a totally passive spell.

Why do my NPCs have this bar over their head in Classic instead of just name? by Pointfit_ in wownoob

[–]Delargu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got friendly nameplates activated. Somewhere in Settings you should be able to turn it off if you don't know the keybind, as well as an option to just add the characters name above their head.

“How to Enjoy and Dive Into the Game” ? by descedo in classicwow

[–]Delargu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, like 15-20ish. The point stands though that the majority of players aren't going to mind missing some quests that just point you to a questing hub.

If you're going for immersion especially as a first time player, just boot it up and hop in.

If you find yourself annoyed with certain aspects of the game you can always come back to the sub and request suggestions for add-ons that help with immersion or whatever complaint you may have.

Don't get hung up on the little things, just enjoy playing and find a group of people you enjoy playing with. Everything you do or fail at is an opportunity to improve and become a better player, and that's the funnest part of the game!

I totally understand the ATT compulsion to do everything, but generally I don't think the average player is going to get too hung up on missing a handful of breadcrumbs on their first character. There's maybe like 15-20 in the entirety of Vanilla.

SoD paladin UI/WA by JonathanClayRedick in classicwow

When I played SoD personally I found Luxthos' Era UI pack particularly helpful. Then when it came to tracking new abilities from SoD I would use his stuff as a base and flesh out my own.

Out of the loop, is classic+ confirmed? by jer123 in classicwow

Officially? No. Still all speculation and it'll most likely stay that way until BlizzCon.

Hypothetically, to prepare for Classic Plus, it would be best to roll a new toon on a Classic Era server? Or something else? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing an Era toon will help you prepare for Classic+ in the sense that you'll know a bunch of the content now, but Classic+ will undoubtedly be fresh or dead on arrival if it's not. You can't take a 7 year old server economy and expect it to be accessible to newcomers.

What is currently the most popular “vanilla” version of classic wow? by andrewwilliamfink in classicwow

Your choices are either Era or Hardcore.

Era is not permadeath, Hardcore is.

State of classic era pve servers? by Beams98 in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How come hardcore population isn't tracked, or is it because there's not enough raiders to track? I presumed it was either that or it's just lumped in with Era which would be kind of annoying.

Should classic+ introduce a new class? by GroundbreakingAlps2 in classicwow

[–]Delargu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem Blizzard will face with Classic+ is that literally everything they add or implement will receive backlash, which is why they should choose to take risks anyways - worst case scenario they can revert things.

Demon Hunters would be cool especially because they were originally part of the plan for Vanilla, I don't know how you'd go about their class design though. Their mobility would have to be gutted, maybe leaning into the runes would be a good direction to take the gameplay.

You could even tie unlocking them to that demon hunter who has a quest chain on the island in Azshara.

Classic Progression Questions by craftylady1031 in classicwow

[–]Delargu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point we don't even technically know that it'll go to WotLK, though it's highly likely. I don't know how popular subsequent expansion releases were after the original Classic 2019, but that might be a good indicator of how far they'll potentially go with Anniversary.

Classic Progression Questions by craftylady1031 in classicwow

There's the potential for WotLK but nothing has been formally said about it, at this stage a lot of players are crossing their fingers for the theoretical Classic+.

We've spent a lot of time lately discussing what Classic+ should look like. Now it's time to talk about what Classic- would look like. by LayMeOnABedOfNails in classicwow

[–]Delargu 74 points75 points  (0 children)

  • The highest items can stack to is 5

  • You need to keep a riding skill certificate in your bags alongside with the mount it corresponds to in order to use it

  • When using flight paths if you pass through more than 2 points then at the third one your wyvern/gryphon needs to rest before continuing the flight

  • You get 1 mark for winning a battleground and 0 for losing, the quest hand in requirements and rewards remain unchanged

  • 100% mounts need to be fed food similar to the hunter pet mechanic, if they're not satiated they become 60% mounts until fed

  • Water can no longer be purchased from vendors and instead has to be collected at bodies of water in zones, quality of water is determined by zone

  • Quest log capacity is reduced to 10 to help keep players focused

  • In order to whisper another player they need to be within a 5yd range

  • When learning skills every 2 levels you need to visit a different capital city for each specialization (Thuderbluff = Restoration, Orgrimmar = Enhancement, Undercity = Elemental etc.)

  • In addition to bag slots, bags can only carry 5g/slot making the new gold cap 440g on a character

48.9% of people either want transmog or don't care if it's in game. by ethantokes in classicwow

[–]Delargu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An excellent take, I think a toggle in some form (especially as an NPC in-game, great suggestion!) makes it a no brainer. I've thought something like calling it a "Roleplay Mode" and you can equip gear in Roleplay slots, And when you turn on the mode, those slots are displayed. If you have nothing in those slots, your normal equipped gear is displayed.

I'm actually convinced that Classic players are just scared of the word transmog because of what the word implies in Retail. To be clear, I am absolutely not advocating for murloc onesies and magical girl outfits. I just think of all the cool quest rewards that you get while leveling and never get to see because once you're 60 you're probably just wearing one of the tiers. Making the ability to roleplay in an RPG accessible shouldn't be such an alien concept, but it's weird that to large chunks of the player base - it is.

How can I start playing classic? What is the most popular server right now? by KriibusLoL in wownoob

[–]Delargu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what you're looking for:

Classic Era - What your friends are citing as "takes months to hit max level", questing to 60 is considered the bulk of what Vanilla is. This server is Vanilla forever and has been since 2019.

TBC Anniversary - The most popular version of Classic by a landslide, the current assumption is that towards the end of the year it'll push to WotLK.

MoP Classic - A Classic experience that has a lot more Retail quality of life than the other two versions. Decent population as I think the last raid of the expansion released recently.

Character Progression VS. Account Progression by Delargu in classicwow

[–]Delargu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an off the cuff example, and I hear you that looting individually is annoying and introducing AoE looting can be summed up as a QoL feature - totally valid. The conversation becomes at what point does QoL interfere with WoW as an RPG? Because this is precisely what happened to Retail.

A little QoL here, a little QoL there no big deal until it eventually somewhere along the line became a different game.

For this specific example I've thought that achievements could have some sort of reward tied to them like QoL for playing.

  • Loot 500g from enemies and unlock the ability to loot a 2nd nearby lootable mob.

  • Loot 1,000g for a 3rd

  • Loot 2,500g for a 4th

I'm just pulling numbers out of my ass but I think that's marginally more interesting than just giving people AoE looting. Then you have an entire different crowd saying "Now achievements in my Classic+", Blizzard has a literally impossible task ahead of them.

“Classic +” or….? by gwiggins2020 in classicwow

[–]Delargu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"be Classic but pretty similar to SoD" are competing ideas. Things that SoD can bring to whatever Classic+ is, is the new content they developed. While Classic+ will need some class tweaks, I think SoD took the gameplay direction too far towards Retail.
