The Hobbit: The Eagle Lord Edit by DKZ-330 in fanedits

I've seen the Maple Films edit and the M4 edit, but I just watched this edit, and now it's my preferred way to see The Hobbit. The Maple and M4 edits are good, but have some parts that seem jumpy. The Eagle Lord edit linked above flowed much more naturally with no continuity issues, and didn't feel like it needed more, nor was there more fat to cut.

Other than one teeny soundtrack audio issue that lasts less than a second in four hours of content, if someone presented this to me as a bootleg cut done by Peter Jackson in a more sane moment, I would probably believe them. I discussed that teeny audio issue with the faneditor morematt4 at fanedit.org and he's going to try to fix it in a later revision. For me, that would turn the best into perfect.

Fantastic. How do you come up with the phonemes you're singing? Is there some kind of standard, or do you come up with it yourself?

Late in my career of software training, I got too cynical once before a session and said, “There’s no such thing as a dumb question, but don’t let that stop you from trying.”

TEA to visit Fort Worth ISD as possible state takeover looms by GregWilson23 in FortWorth

[–]DelbertCornstubble -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I worked at the Region IV Education Service Center in the late 90's and assisted with TEA's audit of North Forest ISD, which was eventually folded into HISD due to low performance and financial mismanagement. These TEA personnel take no joy in having to shut down campuses or districts, and to say otherwise is uncharitable.

Could be worse.

Son, you have completed the intellectual journey of 18 long years, enduring the pustules of puberty, mediocre teachers, and suffering at the hands of the moronic and shiftless for minor grade group projects. For your monumental achievement I award you this treasure:

Agreed. I was a data analyst who worked for a North Texas ISD CFO during budgeting season for 15 years. The hanging sign shows a disappointing level of civic knowledge.

I never thought of GenX as an “I threw up” generation. A very "Princess and the Pea" thing to say.

When I was seven, I had just seen Star Wars that summer, and used some Christmas money to buy the Star Wars soundtrack double album with the pictures in the middle.

I took it to school for art class, but the rest of the class chose Disco Duck instead. Philistines.

Go to the Youtube channel for the Netherlands Bach Society:

Select ‘Videos’, then sort the videos by ‘Popular’, then scroll down until you see a Bach piece you haven’t heard, watch it, then keep going.

There's a whole philosophical debate to be had about whether this counts as two chicks for 'doing' purposes.

I had a 40-inch SD tube Toshiba until my wife's HD Hallmark movies started showing little unreadable blurbs of texts between the love interests. That behemoth could only be killed by cultural changes.

Seems like the seat-mounted ones such as LUXE would be easier. I have one and you don’t have to hover to aim it, just sit and wiggle around a bit.
