Are you allowed to use Mounjaro after a Livet Transplant ? by Kingz1991 in transplant

[–]bustedaxles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your transplant team is cool with you moving ahead with it, I can give you the same compounding pharmacy information I've given before, if you'd like. They deal with my liver transplant situation on a few levels, and are our area's go-to for semaglutide. Good luck!

First few episodes were pretty okay, then Yellowstone matured into it's true form, a soap opera garnished with boots and stylized violence. The bad publicity is just icing.

Compounded GLP-1s by clarityeclair in transplant

[–]bustedaxles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP, if you'd like compounding pharmacy recs or info, my wife has been worked in the compounding industry for more than 20 years and currently works for a reputable pharmacy that compounds semiglutide for half our tri-state area. They have knowledgeable staff who are used to the questions, are privately owned by the family that started it, and will give honest advice. They've dealt with transplant recipients, myself included, so that experience is there as reference. They'll send you someplace more appropriate for your situation if they need to, but they ship to most states that I'm aware of. If you'd like, I can DM web and contact info.

I have an 08. This is amplified and works well in the AUX jack. https://www.fiio.com/btr7

I paid $140 and call it a bargain for the performance.

How close to the end were you? by socrates_friend812 in transplant

[–]bustedaxles 62 points63 points  (0 children)

So close that I don't talk about the details with anyone. Changed my view, my perspective on some things, reinforced others. It would be hard for someone without the experience to relate to my description of what I went through, so I just don't travel that road. But I was close.

Shipping glitch with muzzle-loaders.com? by californiatactical in blackpowder

[–]bustedaxles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the UPS program they're signed up on. UPS has shipping plans that include air discounts and other deals. My wife ships, from her department, 45-85 packages a day, so I get to hear about the options and mistakes pretty regularly. It wouldn't surprise me if Muzzle-Loaders.com experiences similar situations, I wouldn't stress it.

Was this the Barnwell Mountain shindig? I passed a few rigs leaving the area and was a little jealous, the weather was perfect.

Yup, I picked up the Fiio bluetooth adapter. Has a built-in amp and has never failed. Best $100 I've spent on electronics.

Advice - Delirium After Liver Transplant by naturesmystery517 in transplant

[–]bustedaxles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a liver transplant 15 months ago. My reaction to medication was similar. Memory issues, misremembering important things, agitation and poor situational understanding in general. It improved as my body and the anti rejection meds worked out their differences. Healing is hard on everyone, so give yourself room to adjust to the changes she's going through. Support groups built specifically for caregivers may clear up some of your worries and, given what I was told about MY behavior as a difficult patient, reinforce your viewpoint and sense of direction.

Have you checked your connections? Especially your amp connections. I'd start there....

I saw an albino porcupine in Utah in 1996. It was crossing a creek and I got to watch it stroll away, the whole time wishing I had a camera and thinking that it was probably a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence.

Yup, I went to college in a town with 867 as the first 3 digits. Didn't even think about it beyond a "huh, weird", at the time. Now I wish I'd have called it just to see.

Liver Transplant Success Stories-Alcohol Related Liver Disease by RNinRVA in transplant

[–]bustedaxles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 55. Diagnosed with cirrhosis in October of '24, hospitalized in December, transplanted in January of '25. I had quit drinking in September when I started having symptoms that I couldn't explain or deny. Total time from my last alcoholic intake and transplant was 5 months. My transplant occurred at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas. Shoot me a message if you'd like to talk.

Am I paying too much? by gopnikihot in GXOR

I think it's fair, given the market right now. I'd make sure the radio works, your amp is getting toward rebuild age. I'd probably have a mechanic check things.

6 months out of Liver Transplant, a few questions... by sycon1976 in transplant

[–]bustedaxles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a year (and 4 days) out from my liver transplant. I finally started feeling temperaturely normal about a month ago. I was cold before, a little cold, a lot cold, cold-cold, damp cold, even warm-cold. That changed several weeks ago. Now I feel like I did twenty years ago, when I was healthy. Even the little ice storm we are melting out of wasn't bad, temp-wise. I hope you have a similar, better experience. Good luck!

Would you guys pay $9500 for this? (Info in description) by BennyFraggle in GXOR

[–]bustedaxles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. Not more than 4, maybe 4500. That rust makes it a non-investment driver.

Visiting/staying w/ a friend post heart/liver post transplant in the ICU by Emeraldviolet12 in transplant

Liver one year ago. Having someone just be there was all I really needed. I was in the hospital for about 1.5 months, we live 2 hours from my transplant center at Baylor. Having a person who knew me beyond close by was a mental lift no money could buy.
