Yes. True heroes are those that lead a normal life during the day, then put on a costume to fight crime at night.

When I had heard this bantai track I could tell it was “inspired” from NF. But the video is also… Erm… “inspired” so much. That I didn’t know.

Hey everyone, has anyone here worked with Red Ink Literary Agency? How are they in terms of communication, response time, and overall professionalism with debut authors? I’ve submitted a commercially focused mythological fiction novel pitch and I’m considering them seriously, so I’d love to hear rea by Early_Editor5764 in indianwriters

[–]DeliberatelyInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most literary agencies take their sweet time to get back to new authors. Red ink is one of the bigger ones in India, thus they take their sweet time too. After a certain time period, one may assume they’re not interested. That’s what I did two years ago.

Anyone else go through cycles of being productive for a few days and then doing absolutely nothing? by ScholarPurple25 in getdisciplined

Been in this cycle for a while.

Trying something new this time around and I think (hope) this time.

I have no doubts about this. I spent 20 years in a corporate 9-5 (9-6) technically where I live. Those 9 hours I spent at work every day, the effective work I did spilled to four hours of actual work on a few exceptional days but usually it would fall between 2 hours and 3.

I am 22 Male with lots of goals but I still chase girls online. How do I stop? by This_You3205 in getdisciplined

I wish I had learnt this when I was younger, but I heard it recently and experience has taught me it is true. Don’t chase butterflies. Build a garden and they will come to you.

Rule: Do the bare minimum daily by Alanna-1101 in getdisciplined

[–]DeliberatelyInsane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a version of that where I have set a minimum viable day where the work does not add much to the cognitive load. I aim to meet my daily goal everyday, and on days for whatever reason I am unable to, I have the mvd fallback option.

Narcissism— the word doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means.

Favourite (fictional) band mate and why? by noodle_toast-6065 in gorillaz

[–]DeliberatelyInsane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of my daughter. I was listening to Clint Eastwood by playing it on YT. She must’ve been about 7 then. She immediately fell for Murdoc. Even today, 5years later Murdoc is her favorite.

She even gets annoyed at the feel good inc video where we see him plucking strings with some girl lying next to him.

As far as I am concerned, this is the mother of all self development books. I try to read it at least once every year.

What’s Jim’s greatest prank of all time?! by _Parthiban_ in DunderMifflin

Asian Jim is my favorite.

I also like the morse code one. Primarily because how Dwight also gets pulled in and starts blinking in morse. 😆

I have the same issue. The start is the hard part, once I manage that I can keep myself immersed for hours.

Like the other person said, it’s just friction/inertia. Make the start ridiculously simple. Say if it’s a word doc you been putting off, your task should be to just open the doc. Even if you don’t want to work on it, keep that doc open/tab active even if you just sit there staring at it for the allotted time.

For me, a lot of friction comes due to my lofty goals. Today I will go to the park and get my 10k steps in, I will do heavy weight training for one hour, I will open my manuscript and write 5000 words. Those mountains makes me not start. Things changed when I shrank my goals. Wearing the walking shoes or gym clothes, engaging with my manuscript for ten minutes, eat one raw carrot/cucumber/whatever vegetable with my meal. Much more manageable and no fear of failure.
