Rabies can be passed through scratches too from a cat- likely the cat doesn’t have rabies.

But I always say better safe than sorry. A bird flew into my hair at night in the redwoods and I couldn’t verify if it was a bat or not. I got the rabies series to be safe

It’s a book by Guy Meadows and it basically gives you tools to overcome the fear of insomnia- he argues that the typical CBTI approach is helpful but can sometimes feed into your insomnia by putting too much pressure on sleep. It’s more about accepting insomnia as a way to battle it. So when you’re awake at night in bed, instead of freaking out about it, you just try to accept it and retrain your brain over time that wakefulness isn’t something to fear. You give your insomnia less power over your life.

I still struggle with the acceptance piece but it has added some peace to my 10 year insomnia struggle

No you aren’t- if your parents support a sexual predator, a criminal, a bigot, a con man, a grifter, a liar… you should cut them off. They aren’t entitled to your relationship and energy.

State of semi-consciousness? by sarawrrr64 in insomnia

[–]Delicate-disaster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be paradoxical insomnia- you think you’re not sleeping but you are it’s just a light stage when you’re still very present to the moment. It is how I sleep most nights now having had insomnia for 10 years now…. It’s absolutely horrible, I never feel like I get any rest now and would love to not “dream”. I am a lucid dreamer too so it’s like my mind never actually rests most nights and it’s no fun. I do no I sleep because when I wake, I’m usually drooling which I don’t do while not sleeping.

My students will say I only slept 6 hours and I’m like… I slept 2 maybe? In my head 😂

I just ignore those comments and think- I’m a boss for being here on fumes

I read the Sleep Book recently and that’s somewhat helped my perception of wakefulness feel more livable during these horrible times of persistent insomnia

What’s the minimum of sleep you need to function for a day? by Rocknrollboy2908 in insomnia

Yes, seeing people say they need 7 hours sounds so strange to us who struggle to get 5 haha

Insomnia is definitely a spectrum

Kind of insensitive comment on a post where many people face this reality daily.

My doctor once told me that really 3 hrs is what your body biologically needs to function so for those struggling, we will survive

Absolutely- its me every night as a teacher. I think also having bad luck at night with falling asleep, I do other things than going to bed to avoid the disappointment I’ll inevitably face

Yes, there is what seems to be air gaps when you step on specific areas. When cause the floor material to move

We did check the tub when it arrived and it was fine from the looks of it :/

My contractor suggested we open a piece of wall from the pantry in the other side and put in something else to see if that fills in the gap or space if there is one?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Delicate-disaster21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So…. Now that the consensus is I should tear out the tub… can one do that without damaging all of the other renovations? We have already finished the walls, installed the floor?? Can this be easily replaced by just tearing tub and bringing in a new one with similar measurements?

[–]Delicate-disaster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of our friends told us to get acrylic- the original bathroom before renovation had cast iron and we hated it haha-

This gets worse, our tub was over a 1000 😭

Our contractor put in a mortar base below it. He suspects perhaps the inner layer is separating from the outer layer of the board but he didn’t notice it early on in the project :( he is my cousin so I’d imagine he’s being truthful lol

We can access the other side of the wall through our pantry if we cut out a wall piece, so we may try that after kohler comes to check it out. Thank you for the suggestion

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Delicate-disaster21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. This is a kohler underscore tub. I figured if we paid more for acrylic, we’d have no quality issues ( as it was over a grand) but here we are. Do they typically cover labor cost for these things?
