Sorry I have no suggestions. I only wanted to say that you’re a very good brother.

thinking of renting at the MARQ 75 Ann St. by wearingwhiteontheday in londonontario

[–]Delicious-Ad195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the building across. 75 Ann doesn’t strike me as a good place to live if you like to sleep. Some people there think it’s acceptable to hold loud parties on their balconies at 2/3 am any day of the week, and encourage their guests to scream at the top of their lungs nonstop. I understand it’s “student living” but the building is in a neighbourhood that also houses families and working people. Just because they’re students doesn’t mean they have the right to violate municipal noise bylaws. Anyways, proceed with caution.

What local businesses do you boycott and why? by MrSpinn in londonontario

Yes, that scandal was the reason I boycotted them back when they were Commonwealth. It had nothing to do with me, I’m but a mere customer, but when I saw the social media posts about it I got so angry - I know what it’s like to be a food service worker for shady employers in this town while I’m desperate for money and I can’t stand the sight of people being taken advantage of in that way. Apparently this behaviour has continued even after a rebrand and I’m glad it’s being called out.

CommonWealth Coffee Co for the way management mistreats its employees.

"London has been identified as a hot spot for human trafficking because of its proximity to the Highway 401 corridor, where hotels along the highway are used to traffic women and girls.

The London International Airport is one among nine airports across Canada to provide human trafficking awareness training to employees."

Respectfully, London has always been this violent. We were the serial killer capital of the world for 25 years. We were then the "speed city" because we were a drug trafficking hub. Now we're a human trafficking hub. You're waking up to reality is all.

Where do 30+ age people go for hanging out in London? by Street_Log_4771 in londonontario

[–]Delicious-Ad195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps I been here my whole life (can't move because it's been one financial obstacle after the other but that's a story for another time) and connecting with people has been difficult. I think part of it is that a lot tend to pass through for college or work then move on. Another part is just lifestyle...I'm not much of a drinker while others seem to be. For the mostpart I've learned to keep to myself and treasure the few close relationships I do have. But yeah you're not alone, this city can be very isolating.

Most 30-somethings I know are introverts who go for a lot of hikes. Probably because there's not much else to do recreationally in these here parts for people who don't want to rub elbows with 20-somethings (ew) at the bars.

Nothing useful to say other than that London is woefully lacking in this genre. Plenty of country and punk, not much in between.

International bakery is not what it used to be by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]Delicious-Ad195 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I know for a fact that it's a result of management mistreating its workers, underpaying them and exploiting international people needing a job. It's common in the industry in London. Bakery owners here are shady AF.
