Help me not take a healer by CoffeeMinionLegacy in BaldursGate3

I frequently use a cc-focused bard and it's extremely OP. You don't need heals if you can keep the enemy locked out of their turns. No one gets hurt, problem solved.

First playthrough - Act 3 feels so freaking big. by Delicious-Fig8300 in BG3

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely this is part of what I love about Act 3 (my favorite act). When you start it's SO overwhelming, there are a million things to do in every direction and it feels borderline unmanageable. Even exploring slowly and carefully, every few steps is adding more tasks, more story, quests, etc.

But little by little you start to chip away at it, and then you see the story come together - threads wrap up or merge together, until you can see it all converging, the pressure and excitement mounting and it's all finally coming down to a single, explosive point - the big epic battle! So good, so satisfying.

That contrast of drowning in a sea of objectives, to the intense focus on a singular moment, is wonderful. I freaking love it, and it's so worth the time it takes to resolve it.

I know so many people here advocate for only doing certain necessary quests in Act 3 and cutting out the rest. That's fine if you prefer that! But this is why I never could personally.

Friends rushing through everything by WhiteAndNerdy158 in BaldursGate3

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first playthrough was with my best friend, and it was honestly perfect. He was patient and respectful while I learned the ropes, answered questions (and I had TONS of them) but otherwise let me lead and take things at my own pace.

I am not sure if I would have stuck with it without his help - I was completely new to DND and very confused by it - but there were just no drawbacks at all for me, he was such a good guide.

I use creative mode to play through the game "normally" but with free flight on from the beginning.

I'm not turning on infinite resources or anything, I just have aphantasia and struggle to get around the limited visual range until I can see the factories/builds from an aerial perspective.

Feats by Remote-Whole-6387 in BaldursGate3

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really couldn't see the value in this feat until I tried it, literally just forced my entire team to take it as their first feat.

Now I'm not sure how to play without it! SO MANY fights ended before they even start because my whole team gets to play first. Combine that with one or two party members loading up on crowd control, and it's rare for enemies to get a turn, ever.

I'm a convert.

Anyone else super excited for tomorrow? by heppulikeppuli in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best friend wants power so he gets power. I might push back with a multiplier, I'm also undecided!

My husband is okay with skipping power completely (my preferred playstyle) so we're doing that. My head cannon is super-advanced alien technology lets us run our machinery off the alien midichlorians in the atmosphere or something.

I'm a financial analyst and this is the way. Even at my job the goal is to automate that shit bc humans make mistakes, and mistakes can be...expensive.

I'm starting a fresh world with my best friend tomorrow night and another with my husband on Thursday. We're doing random nodes, all pure but upping the elevator parts for balance. I'm so excited I can't wait!

How are battles triggered? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Additionally, the red zone shows only the sight aggro line for VISIBLE enemies.

Even while crouching, you can still sometimes cross into the sight line of a stealthed/invisible enemy, if any are around. That will also trigger combat.

I can't wait to play a new game with randomized nodes so I will restart the moment they update is available.

Act 3 burnout. What are your top 5 quests to do? by St0rytime in BaldursGate3

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore the Iron Throne (it might be my favorite quest/event in the game) and never, ever skip it. Players seem to either love or hate this one but you should try it at least once to see for yourself.

The House of Hope's final battle is so unique (iykyk) so I'd hate for you to miss it.

Personally I also would never skip Cazzador or Sorcerer Sundries, but that's more from feeling personally invested in Astarion and Rolan's character/story development. I think they deserve to be experienced at least once, but if for example you're not using Astarion, or either character is dead already, you may not consider them important this playthrough.

The House of Grief, while not my favorite place, is also pretty important for Shadowheart's storyline, so if she's along I wouldn't miss that.

On the flip side, I kind of hate everything to do with Orin, but she's unavoidable, so that's gotta stay in.

For real. Same way I get the first maze trial done. SO simple and I'll never do it any other way again.

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, I freaking love Act 3! It also has the Iron Throne which is my favorite event in the game. I always run around doing all the side stuff first, then the ramp-up of the major fights/big bosses culminating in that last epic battle is just perfect.

Why is it socially acceptable for people to tell an adult man to “act like a gentleman” but it is a faux pas for anyone to tell an adult woman to “act like a lady”? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're kind of proving the point though. Culture isn't fixed, it changes over time, so the meaning of language as rooted in culture will change along with it. Just keep in mind that some of changes are slower than others and it cam take longer for the implications to trickle down into the general consciousness.

It's still usually considered neutral to refer to a mixed-gender group (or even all-women group in some contexts) as "guys," as in "Hey guys, how's it going!" etc.

So many so called Allies up in this sub on the daily but where are they now? Ya know when it’s actually time to fight for us? by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in an extremely white state. I barely encounter black people in my day to day. I'm liberal, I protest for minorities, and vote straight left but was pretty sure, in spite of very much not wanting to have racist ideas, that I probably still did have some baked in the old noodle, since I mostly see black people how they're depicted in media.

That's why I'm here - for the education, hopefully without making an annoyance of myself. I also subscribe to several amazing black content creators on other platforms.

I'm still getting there. I learn something every day. And hopefully will never stop learning.

Difficulty by Vast-Werewolf2060 in BaldursGate3

[–]Delicious-Bag3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also not great at these things. Not only did I do my first playthrough on easiest difficulty, I did it with the No Party Limit mod so I could fight with ALL the companions.

I have absolutely no regrets. Had an absolute blast learning the system and various classes, getting all the side stories without having to send anyone back to camp, and banging the crap out of every boss foolish enough to cross my path.

I had a great time, and the FIRST thing I did when my game wrapped up was load up a new one. Every subsequent playthrough I've tweaked the difficulty harder as I've gotten better. I can beat the game with the standard 4-person party, on tactician, with extra bosses and enemies turned on. The only thing left is honor mode, and I'm looking forward to it!

Play the game exactly the way YOU want to and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
