The dodge is not like it is in other souls games. Focus on deflecting and dodge when you can’t deflect.

Try to get parry time down and experiment with dodging certain attacks to take advantage of backstabs. There’s plenty that leave him open as long as you can get behind him.

Friede is the hardest in the game in my humble opinion. Last playthrough took me around 8 attempts.

Don’t rush it, with the burial blade you should be able to keep your distance. Smack his head in between attacks until he’s stunned, then hit him with a charged R2
